Advanced Power Armor Lex Luthor
A beefed up kryptonite-powered hard suit.
About this creation
Firstly, I would like to apologize for the relatively poor photo quality (especially in the darker pictures)... but it's the best I can do.

After I built my Advanced Tripod Invader I've been wanting to do another rebuild of a lego set. Obviously, I chose lego's Power Armor Lex; it's been out for a while so I'm a bit late but oh well. There really isn't that much to say about this other than my randomly integrated sentences, so just enjoy the pictures.

The right hand/optional gun has been replaced with a giant kryptonite cannon. This weapon has a much larger area of effect than the puny one lego tried pulling off.

I built the entire hard suit from scratch, however, I did try to mimic the color scheme and the general style that lego used in the original version.

The improved cockpit has Lex standing up in an action-ready pose, and includes bright flood lights on the side to illuminate the enemy.

Bigger legs.. nice and stompy.

A sad day for the Justice League... (I'm definitely more of a Marvel fan anyways)

BUT WAIT! There's more!

This hero-stomping behemoth lights up!

Hard to see, but the cockpit lights up red

Shin-mounted lights help navigation through loose debris.

YIKES!! That's a complete mess! But there really wasn't much I could do...

A final pic of the evil Lex Luthor

I would like to give a special thanks to Artifex Creation for the LEDs (for a small review see below). I used a total of 16 white LEDs in this build. This is the first time I've used a non-lego product in a build; I'm mildly ashamed of myself, but it looks awesome and there really isn't a good lego-brand alternative, otherwise I would have explored that option. Nevertheless, look for more awesome LEDage in my future builds, I'm not going to put them into everything but a few lights here and there might add a lot to some builds.

As always, thanks for looking!

For those interested in purchasing LED lights for your MOCs:
Artifex Creation LEDs
I know the standard for lighting (at least among the few who often use LED bulbs in their builds) is LifeLites, both products are extremely similar but there's a few reason's I went with Artifex. The main difference which gives Artifex the upper hand is that each of their LED cords actually splits at the base and has two LEDs. I'm not sure what all I'm planning to do with these, but I bought the equivalent of 32 light bulbs, which was much cheaper with Artifex. Other than that, LifeLites is probably superior in most ways. If you're looking for four or less LEDs for a small build, I definitely recommend LifeLites because they have a nifty mini-module thing that is housed in a custom 2x4 lego brick. If you want a medium amount of lights, you'll have to compare the two for what you're looking for, but if you buy a ton of lights Artifex is definitely the way to go. I should also mention that both products come with a module that has various blinking patterns (impossible to show with a single still picture), and the LifeLites modules seem to have better designs, including a programmable module... just something to consider.
It looks like Artifex Creation is a relatively newer company, at least they certainly aren't well known. I couldn't find any product reviews so I was a bit cautious to buy anything from them but everything I got was in perfect condition, batteries not included.

A great rebuild, so much better than the official set. Much chunkier and I prefer your cockpit arrangement. What a surprise to see all those lights - Awesome. Like you I am more of a Marvel fan but you gotta love Superman. Would you be interested in joining my 'Bricks of Steel' group? I will send an invite but there is no pressure to join. Thanks for the interest in my Silver Surfer :D.

Fantastic! Nice improvement on the considerably less impressive LEGO version. Love the Kryptonite cannon on the right arm. That looks like it could cause some serious devastation. And the LED's are a brilliant touch, (LEGO accessories or not).
