Shaptor
About this creation
In the elemental universe, there is a wide sacred growth which no draken dares to enter. It is also known as the Nightmare Forest for it is told to make worst fears come true.

The forest is dark, dimly luminous and streams of deep blue water flow through it in unnatural patterns. The creatures there are vile and deceptive, as what they look like can hide their true abilities.

The shaptor are one of the forest's many species. They tend to move in numbers of 1-3, the latter being the rarest as the shaptor are not much of pack animals, but still can befriend one of it's own kind. They are not large and their diet consist of small creatures, which are often poisonous, but the shaptor are immune.

They are very near-sighted and therefore rely on the fins on their back when moving, which they can light up into a bright glow, which can be used also to blind from short distances. The forest's air breaks light rays quickly due to the gasses put up by the local plants, so the range of light isn't long, except for higher grounds, which contain less gas.

The main weapon of a shaptor is it's tail. It is hardened and glows like burnt coal. The shaptor can increase the tail's heat, making it glow brighter, and in rare cases making it to flame, and stun it's target by the pain through the burns it causes. The rest is for the huge claws of the shaptor's legs to finish the job.

Shaptor do not have a certain mating time, but when a male shaptor is looking for a partner, it lures females to it's territory by making the tail glow on high spots of it's area and pointing it high. The brighter the tail glows, the more likely a female will appear. Those rare ones with a burning tail are the most likely to get a mate. When paired, the two shaptor unite their territory and stay with each other for the rest of their living time.

I managed to hide all the gaps quite well, did I?

So this is something to a new scale for me. Due to lacking the common finger pieces, I weren't before able to create such small and detailed creatures as this. With my new part order this was pretty much a must to build, plus I had some other motivation from elsewhere.

Thanks to Frederick Hannah for the original idea with his Little Thunder lizard, which I pimped up to my style and a proper color scheme.

I hope you like this and leave some comments and rates below :)

Quoting Gale Winthrope Ok, now you can call me crazy, but that thing is really cute! Excellent use of the rahkshi, (provided I spelled that right) spine. Now, if I were able to produce something like this, would you mind if I did? I will give credit. :)
Nope, I do not mind at all =) And it is cute indeed.
