For the 2012 Mocathalon category 27. Forced Perspective
Build a moc using forced perspective. The differing scales can be anything you wish as long as we are given the illusion of forced perspective.

The grey cloaked figure crouched lower, waiting.

The silent assassin sees his target and reaches back for his black arrow.

Soon the poisoned head will find its mark. He was a Rockine and they never miss.

Unless they are prevented from releasing the arrow in the first place which is just what the guide behind the Rockine intends to do.

The problem with Rockine Assassins is that they are too intent on their target to even look twenty paces behind them.

I hope the forced perspective worked on you. I had an idea to force the perspective by showing a large scale in the foreground instead of the usual micro in the background. I dislike building in micro scale so I thought the reverse would be a snap. I soon found out that I am equally bad at large and small scale. After making the first shot, I thought it would need a little more to the build so I flipped the perspective so you could see the assassin's hood.
I think I am starting to run out of my Mocathalon steam, but I am committed, so expect more entries.

Some additional color work might have been nice, just for the general aesthetic of the MOC. The idea was sound, but I think you could've refined the build somewhat. Still, not bad. Score of 3.

I like the thinking outside the box on this one. The build of the close up part could have been a bit better (smoother because he's so close to the viewer) but overall a nice moc. A very, VERY solid 3 points (just shy of the four). ~ Chris.
