Tanya Roberts tries to reconnect with her past, but ends up further back than she could have imagined...

Team GAIA

H.M.S DEUTSCHLAND orbiting Earth

'So Tanya,' continued GAIA Director P.Levens, 'if you will accompany me into the hangar bay I can show you the specially modified Mk II bomber you will be flying.'
'So let me get this straight, the inter dimensional Dyson conduit has been maxi linked and localised so that when we enable the Alcubierre drive to take us beyond light speed, we will actually be doing it in real-space time in our own dimension? Hence travel back in time?' Tanya was sceptical.
'Yes, yes, something like that Tanya. This is your chance to perhaps visit with your otherwise deceased father...'
Tanya held back her tears. The Direcctor had the biggest piece of bait anyone was ever going to need to get someone risking their lives. 'Just get me into the cocpit Parrington. Sheesh, you are a cold, calculating SOB.'
The director smiled.

Tanya lets the throttle down and engages the A-Drive and immedietly notices the difference with her experimental bomber and normal drive systems.
'What the?'

Lapping the Earth twice, Tanya's bomber approaches light speed and then her Dyson conduit kicks in boosting the A-Drive - a rift appears before her and everything goes blank...

Dusk. Down town Chicago, 1970 AD.

'Tanya,' Troy Johns exclaimed, 'Wake up doll. I've got to show you something.'
'What the...'
'C'mon, let's get going, it's dark out already.'
'Troy my dear boy, what's with this room. Where the hel am I?'
'Hahhaha, yeh, we got well drunk last night dear. This is some cheap American hotel room.'

'Uhmm...'
'Tanya, this way! You know the blue Stanger's my ride. Just love these Amercian motors.'

Tanya continues to sense something is terribly wrong. But what could be wrong? She's in her boy friend's car going for a ride. Perfectly normal...'

'So, we're going for a ride out to meet your parents Tan. They're in a nice log cabin just waiting to see you.'

Tanya beamed, though couldn't quite place why she should be so excited at the idea of seeing her parents. It wasn't like one of them had died...'

'O.K. Here we are. The cabin's just over yonder. Let's go.'
'Er, it's kind of deserted...'

'Oh, Tanya, I have something to tell you.'

'HAHAHAHAAH!!! We are Draggone! And we are everywhere, in all dimensions and in all timelines. Did you humans really think we would just allow you to travel back in time unhindered? You could win the war before it even started. But that will never be, for we are fighting you on this battlefield also. Now prepare to die time traveler!'

Tanya has a jolt course through her system and suddenly finds herself at the controls of her still accelerating MkII.
'Abort! Mission abort!' Tanya backs off on the throttle and lets the A-Drive power down before heading back to HMS Deutcshland. The Director was going to have some explaining to do!
Tha past...

The time machine...

Long live GAIA!!!

This is a great looking ship. It reminds me of the sort of thing that was in my Dad's "Eagle" comics, as a cutaway drawing. It's also got a bit of Avro Vulcan about it. Great colour scheme too!
Cheers Dave, yeh I really got into the big delta-wing shape here and had originally planned 4 engines on each wing, but settled with 3. Glad you liked it, this is one of my fave mocs of my own, cheers :) |

Nice one mate, great to see you're in top shape on image editing and storytelling! |
|
|
Ohh, come on! This is waaay better than the judges' ratings might suggest. And maybe it's just not mainstream enough and a little bit too subtle. I think that Kelso gave the fairest rating. I've seen smaller & lower quality builds with similar ratings that deserve at least one point less, imo. But, what counts my oppinion!? Don't waste too much time thinking about it and keep your unique, creative and cleverly thought out style for which I admire your stuff so much! ~So Long, cheers! |

Um, I got to agree with the guys that said that you should have the cars on the opposite side of the road but then again, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Samoa have cars in the British style, as do nations like Australia and Japan. With that being said, did you realize that you were making an homage of sorts to the British and US remake of Life on Mars (and no, I don't mean the LEGO theme, I mean the TV show)? Nice MOC anyway despite the gaffe. You could always fix it up later.
hehe, oh well, I'm in Australia, and forgot to change my thinking. I just couildn't bring myself to put the cars the other way, it just looked so wrong to me, lol... Anyway, thanx mate for looking and though the only thing in common with this Moc and that show is time travel to the 70's, I loved that show! |

While it's not all about volume of work, I have to give you credit for so much effort going into a single category. On top of that I thought the building was solid, the story enjoyable, and the presentation quite nice. Score of 4.

Slick build Parrington, but doesn't quite catch the category like I was thinking. Score= 3
Hehe, yeh, I'm getting that, and to be honest I felt I'd pushed the GAIA envelope too far on this one. lol, but in any event, the bomber's a sweet looking space jet right? |

H.M.S. Deutschland! Killer ship, dude! Massive, but still sleek and those fins look awesome. And the bomber... The colour scheme and the well known Euro-Space styled engines are totally kick arse. Also, you have taken the time warp category much further than you can see on first sight! It starts with the vintage canopy of the bomber and continues via the classical 4 wide cars with their 70īs (styled) windscreen and front grille parts! You nailed this category by far more than the story reveals on first sight. Itīs just pretty subtle, but I love it. The build is high quality as usual and really delicious! One thing bothers me though: ...in the US, um, ...arenīt they supposed to drive on the right side? HEHE, who cares! Blake should have given you at least a 4, imho. ~Cheers and GO GAIA, GO!
Blake can get lost, hahaha... I thought you'd like this, had to do a German one for ya! Afterall GAIA uses the Tuetonic/Iron Cross (around since circa 1200AD b.t.w) as one of it's 4 or so symbols, so it was about time I did a futuristic German based build. And yeh, exactly what I was going for with the use of Legoland style lego for the 70's stuff, and modern techniques for present (be it that GAIA's idea of present is 10008AD!) Thanx for notcing mate;) Long live GAIA!!! |

Perhaps the judges didn't take the time to look at all the details you put into this. Hopefully the rest of them will give you some higher scores. It's still a 5 in my book, mate!
Hehe, thanx mate. I did get a 4! Maybe if I'd focused on the future stuff as the Time Warped era it would have helped, ie started in the past. But I felt that anything shown not of today would be looked at as part of the category. But that's me :) Now if I was going to ignore the spaceship and the jet fighter and only look at the 70's stuff I put forward, then I'd give 3 also. It's all fun...
