MocAthalon #3: Ghost Hunters - Haunted Hallway
"A MOCtley Crew" presents: #3: Ghost Hunters, Build a MOC based on Ghost Hunting. This can be something like the Ghost Hunter’s show on SYFY, or Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel. (Google them if you do not know what those are about). The focus must be on ghosts, no vampires, werewolves, etc.

This MOC is the result of 3 very long days of hard work. I knew exactly what I wanted to create for this category. And so I'm very pleased with the result of my three days of hard work. It looks a little bit small, but that doesn't matter to me, it is packed with details, so I suggest taking a good look.

It took me sometime to come up with the base. Although I had the idea in my mind it was very hard to get started. Once I had the base it became rather simple to making it an real entry, worthy of getting 6 straight 5's :P

Some technical information:
-the MOC is 19 studs wide, 25 studs deep and 17 1/3 brick high.
-it took me three days of hard work to get this MOC done. + creative thinking time :D
-The MOC is so fragile my mother almost ruined it twice.

And here are the pictures: (description are below each photo)

[main photo] (can you find the ghost?)

[close shot #1](just in case: the painting is not a window!)

[close shot #2]

[line up: characters](from left to right: the prof's sidekick which I'm most fond about, the prof's sun and other sidekick, the professor)

[line up: (haunted)attributes]

For the ones who are interested:

[the stairs]

[the background/details](the skull can acctually turn around so it can 'follow' people, just like the painting and the knight can)

And here are the BONUS pictures:

[Just a random nice shot of the rhino skull in a different position]

[my teammembers agreed that a real spooky picture/feeling was needed, so I shot this photo again with some interesting lightning, but didn't turned out the great I had hoped]

[it's all peace and quiteness]

If you liked the build (or didn't), then please comment.
I love the hear all your opinions, good or bad.
I would like to push my skills to my limits, thanks already!

And to the jugdes: Good luck!

This is great work. Particularly noticed the grandfather clock, hatrack, and camera equipment. Very well done.

Loved the techniques used in this. The floor and the stairs were immediately impressive, as were many of the details when looking closer. Nice work. Score of 4.

I do agree with the other judges that there wasn't a big "spooky vibe" which was what was wanted for this category (to go in step with what the show tries to convey). However, the build was REALLY nice with some little details that just made it pop. I'm going with a 4 pointer here. ~ Chris.

The clock is wicked....the spookiness, not so much. Score= 3

NEAT!, I love your moc and I agree with Ian about your moc my only comment is I did not understand the rhino skull. Maybe you change the backround from blue to black. ( or any spookie color.) but besides that great job!

Not that I mean disrespect to the judges, but I think the build has plenty of spookiness! My only critique is the blue background, that's what detracts from the "scary" in my opinion. I really like that you (Rinse) decided to do the ghost scene in a hallway instead of, say, a graveyard. It gives a much more unnatural feel to the supernatural elements, which is almost unsettling! Great job! And despite what Mr. Bones said, I think the picture coming to life was a great idea (I wonder if he saw your last photo, that's what makes it clear). Anyway, just my two cents in your defense. Once again, excellent build sir!

I'm sorry, the real spooky feeling wasn't the real meaning of the build. I have a somewhat unfair feeling about getting lower points for that. Is this just me or is that not stated in the category disscription.

Excellent work on the floor. I agree with Bones though, the spookiness evades me. Score: 3

This is really funky! I love the quirky and comedic feel to it, it reminds me actually of those wasgij jigsaw puzzles for some reason. Well done and best of luck.

This is a hard entry for me to judge because it is such a nice looking build. However, I do not see a lot of spooky here, the picture looks like a lady watching the kids from a window and that really pulls down the spook element for me. Your score = 3
