Hikari Gunship
A VTOL Hikari Gunship
About this creation
A mainstay of the Nippon refugee forces the Hikari is a vertical takeoff and landing gunship with multiple forms of weaponry including anti-tank rail guns and small arms. They were used in the retaking of Japan from Insectoid colonizers after the Blacktron betrayal of humanity.

Just clearing up a few old MOCs and realised this was never posted separately to the diorama. (Which at this point is still missing it's pictures anyway!)
Built: April 2011.

Way cool build, man. The nacelles rock, and I think the shorter tail section emphasizes their chunk factor. 5/5 - Huss Q.

Hmm... Excellent build! It would be nice it the rear wings were placed farther back; in other words, extend the rear of the ship a little so that it's not so short. OTehrwise, incredible job.

I got to agree with Michael Rutherford here on the wing nacelles. The wings should be a bit bigger and it also wouldn't hurt to have more of a nose on the fighter as well as a second tail fin. Were those things done, then this fighter would have a very nice RayStorm/Ray Crisis or Raiden sort of feel.

Quoting Brian L though doesn't Hikari translate into "light"? :P
Yes, that's also what the exo-force sticker says in the Japanese kanji symbol. I know it's pretty heavy for a 'light' gunship but i do have a few ideas for a heavy gunship!

Go HiKari Gunship! This is a brilliant moc! I just love it. The fact that you used red and white as main colour makes it look like it's Japanese. I like the name too! And the overall shape is beautiful. Awesome creation!

If only the actual sets looks a little more detailed (like this guy), I would've probably bought EXO Force kits instead of Gundams for the past several years. :P

Sweet job on the way integrating some of those more retro bits into such a viable, and futuristic looking craft (looks wicked-fast, too) Cheers!

Total anime. Very aggressive, bug-ish, lobster-ish, flying porcupine-ish. It evokes a cruel mood very quickly. I like the flashy red and white combo as well. But the engine nacelles are sort of overpowering. I think some wings protruding out beyond the engines would really provide this craft with a more balanced look. None of that changed the fact that this thing already rocks though. Attack!
