As we have 30 life rats here at home, and my wife have been begging me for a long time to build a rat "out of LEGO" this was a great opportunity for me to do so. Had i known what i got myself into i might had reconsidered.
So this build i have spend about 40 hours on over the last 10 days. Probably the longest time i have ever spend on a build this size. Here are the reasons:
I rebuilded it 6 times.
Reason i rebuilded it is that we breed them due to their genetics.
So it had to have certain characteristics to look as my wife wanted it to, and myself also offcourse.
For those of you who care this is a Black variegated mismarked Dumbo, ( genotype ) aa Hihn dudu.
How this is decided is by its looks, whit ear, small white marks on its back and leg, its fur. ( Now thats kind of a hard one, so i letted my wife decide on that ).
I got it out of its cage for you all to have a look at it:
Better let it back into its cage again:
So this was my second entry for the MOCathalon, a very very fun build, and im really pleased with how it looks cause of all its charactaristics, and that it actually is genebased.
Might not get the highest scores. But my wife gave it those, so im fine.
Quoting Sir Balamorgineas
Nice. I especially like the last pic, its eyes really pop. I am impressed that you built it to such precise genetics. Now I just wish I knew enough to recognize the extra work.
Haha .... Me also .. Im still learning ... But they are such fun animals. We have one that calls for the cat and feeds it ... We think its because it likes to pet it. It weird facts like this that changed my view towards rats. :)
Very good! Much much better than the first version.
The only thing is that you can't see the eyes. Black on black is hard to see.
Another thing is check with the judges about background. I thought that we can't use non-lego backgrounds.
