Good MOC, great subject matter. The details on the ship are excellent, but the ship's hull itself could be improved. Overall though, I really like this. 4/5 : )

I really like the subject that you chose. I think that hits the nail on the head with the category. I like the cleanliness of the build, too, but I'm wondering (as some others have discussed) about the proportions. Still, a solid MOC - score of 3.

Not to detract from your build, but whaling is NOT illegal worldwide. In fact the Inuit tribe in Canada still goes on yearly hunts. Norway, Russia, Iceland, and Greenland also have resumed whale hunting in the last few years. With that being said, great build and a worthy statement. Score= 3

Quoting Wes Pitter I'm not sure if you got my comment earlier in teh group, or if it got eaten, but you basically took my advice! I suggested waves and more detail on the boat. Bigger flukes on the whale may make it look more "whale-like", although you'd have to consider the scale. This is a nice start for our team!
I did, and I tried to follow it up as much as possible, But there is only as much, that you can do. Thanks, anyway.

Looks great, I have some ideas: Maybe around the outside of the whale and boat put some translucent blue or clear round 1x1 studs to simulate the movement of the water. Also the front of the boat looks a little too tall. And maybe make the wiki link a link. And if you have the meat cleaver maybe give it to the Jap instead of the gun. Hope that helps. Good luck!

Never-mind what I said about elongation, on second thought that might not look good.

Looks pretty good! Is there any way you could elongate the whale's head though? Also, how would using white studs for eyes be? I'm not sure how much of an improvement that would be, but it'd only take a moment for you to check. Still, overall I'm liking this!

Awesome! I love it! In my opinion is the whale the best part, but the ship looks great too! I really like how you did the shape of the ship! 5/5 :-)

Quoting Deus Otiosus Good idea and interesting execution, but the whale looks awfully short... The ship's hull could have a little more advanced shape, but I guess it's enough that it's brickbuilt. About whaling though, I think you would change your opinion if you ever tried whale meat.
You eaten whale? What's it like? I had to make the whale short, otherwise I'd run out of blue.
