Manaan was an aquatic water world and home to the Selkath and the only source of kolto-an important healing liquid. The Selkath used their monopoly on the kolto to enforce their neutrality on both the Republic and Sith Empire. Revan visited the world during his quest for star maps during which led him through the floating Ahto City, the Sith Embassy, an underwater Republic base on Hrakert Rift, and finally past a giant Firaxan shark to the map.
