Heinkel He 111 medium bomber
About this creation

The Heinkel He 111 was designed in the early 1930s in violation of the Treaty of Versailles. Often described as a "Wolf in sheep's clothing",it masqueraded as a transport aircraft, but its purpose was to provide the Luftwaffe with a fast medium bomber.

-Some classic situations-

This posting is based on my LDD MOC Heinkel He 111 from the summer of 2011, but it has undergone a couple of changes (mainly structural, but also some minor aesthetic).

As I know at least one of you guys have plans on building it I will leave a LDD file and some pointers with this posting:

The LDD file has some parts that are meant to counter the weight of the wingtips and tail by adding tension. This is not something that LDD will allow, so the model in the file is divided in to several parts.

If you want to have this as a permanent decorative piece I would highly recommend building a stand that has support for the critical parts of the plane.

Great pics of an awesome built plane! Most i like the mainbody, and the engines. 'breaking-problems' can be solved in many ways, i am convinced you will find your way.

Quoting Christian Collins Arggg... The wings, they refuse to stay! Do you have any suggestions on how I can get them to stay on the plane?
Yep that is a real killer. For me they snapped off when I moved the plane after the photoshoot. The solution Henrik shows below seems to be the way to go. I was thinking in terms of some wiring and technic plate solution myself. This will probably mean sacrifiing the weel bay in the engine. I have a lot of work right now so the plane is on the shelf at the moment, but I will definetly get back to it.

Oh, this is quite an excellent MOC! Very original way to do the front glass cupola. Also escellent to go with a camo paint-job. I havent seen the LDD-file, so I dont know exactly what the wing-problem is, but here´s some inspiration on how I solved an angle+weight-problem; http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=120836&id=/user_images/19323/12443634187

Nice work on this. While, I haven't made anything that originally digital into physical, but I can imagine how sometimes you find yourself in need to change around some aspects.

Quoting Christian Collins Hey Anders, I am actually going to build one, and eventually post it. With full credit given of course. :)
Beware of those wings! They are constantly falling apart. I'm currently thinking of ways to strengthen them "cheat".
