The US Air Force ground-attack jet. The best in the business.
About this creation
Hey everyone! This is my first Mocpages post in a while and hopefully it will go smoothly. This is on my flickr if anyone is interested.
I took interest into this aircraft after watching Generation Kill, a mini-series that takes place during the initial stages of the American assault into Iraq. The aircraft, with its sleek lines, and recognisable aspects such as the two oddly placed engines as well as the two tail fins made for a good build. And it was. It took me a better part of a month to build this mainly because I kept getting side-tracked and distracted with other things.
One notable aspect of the A-10 which I could not achieve was the wings which are meant to tilt upwards very slightly. Also the cockpit is a lot larger but due to the odd nature of it and a lack of a wide variety of cockpit pieces on my behalf meant that only half the cockpit is visible.
The main weapons system a GAU-8 Avenger, a heavy rotary cannon near the nose of the plane should have been lower but to complete the plane look I had to fill the space in making the weapon appear higher than it should've.
An A-10 typically carries two sir defence missiles like sidewinders whilst the rest are laser-guided bombs and missiles. My attempt at missiles was a failure. Don't judge! Without my pathetic attempt it would look weird and incomplete.
Love this last shot here. Good angles Darren.
And that's all folks :D
Hopefully you'll leave any comments and criticism and what not in the comments section.
THANKS FOR VIEWING :D
Nice! You have got the shape and outline down. The silhouette of the plane is good, but when I look closer it seems rough around the wings and fin. I would suggest thickening up the wings. Right now you only have a plate, maybe some tapering and studlessness would make the wings flow a little. Hope this helps!
