Built from scratch, failing memory and odd bits from my son's brick collection, the Mark II Republic Gunship!!

About this creation

My son has been desperate for a Gunship since becoming addicted to the Clone Wars cartoons. I can't afford the ebay prices and it isn't his birthday for ages so I had a go at making something from the bricks we found in his brick box. As can be seen, it isn't an exact replica, so we've christened it a mark II, of which this is the second version, the mark one meeting an unfortunate accident prior to it's photoshoot. I think it may well be an ongoing development although in it's own right, we are quite pleased with it. The doors slide, the front canon rotate (slightly, this is an area for improvement) and the cockpit glass just lifts (falls) off. It is quite solid however and does accommodate plenty of clones but the matters of comfort and equipment storage haven't been addressed yet.
