A mostly white corner building.
About this creation
Originally I intended to use more dark green, especially the gold-lined curved slopes ftom the Emerald Night, on the sides of the corner and between the floor; but it ended up looking better in white (and some gray)... And the name stuck. (After all, there's a jeweler's shop on the ground floor.)
- All pictures are also available on Flickr -
Let's start with some full views from the outside:

Now some street scenes:

Skater girl shows skater boy what she'd like...

Mr Rich Guy with bodyguard close behind.

A better look at the wrought-iron shop sign.

...and at the simple newspaper vending machine.
Let's look inside the jeweler's shop:

A look at the workbench when there was no wall yet.
Now what's going on on the second floor?

It's the mini-, erm, maxidoll design studio! The latest and greatest toy for minifigure girls, soon to be available in a shop nearby...
(Sewing-machine design from dho7622u.)

Third and fourth floor contain an apartment – a rather luxurious one by minifigure standards:

The boy living here is switching on the big-screen TV to play some games with his friend on the latest game console, probably a PlaiiBox 720 or something like that^^

Upstairs:

Boy's room, parents' bedroom, bathroom - a bit hard to see, so the next photos were taken during the build.

The boy's room - with a big dinosaur "doll", a remote-controlled Ferrari, a robot and a notebook.

And finally some "making of" photos:

A few ideas for the corner gable that didn't make it.

Construction detail: side of the gable.

Second floor SNOTing, later hidden with plates with a little gap.

Third floor SNOTing, later hidden without a gap.

Do you have the instructions for this Emerald House. I would be really interested in.
Sorry, no. I never made any instructions, nor did I build this in LDD or something like that. |

Put this up on CUUSOO, it's unbelievable! I'd buy it in a heartbeat, and that would mean $1.50 for you :-)
You're probably amongst the top 5 MOC designers in the world, I'm always so amazed by your creations. |

You say you got the one's that are usable in a city. Does that mean that you know what's in the packets before you open them?
I checked the barcodes in the early series and the dots in later ones, but sometimes I just grabbed the bags randomly, so I do have some of the others (that's why I said "mostly" :) ). In the recent series, I prefered to buy only a few randomly and bricklink the rest. |

It's just not fair. Excellent, you are quickly becoming one of my all-time favorite builders. Did you have to take apart the big street scene to make this? I think I'll take another hour to stare at this. |

It is amazing how many different pieces you have. I noticed the Ollivander's sign from the Diagon Alley set, and you also seem to have every minifigure from every series.
Well, these big sets like Diagon Alley are good parts packs especially if you can get them at a discount. :) But I don't have *every* minifigure; mostly I got those usable for cities.

How big is your layout going to end up being?
In a few months I'll have a 4m x 6m room to fill; minus build table and space to walk around, that's still quite some space for the next years... |

Did you have to take apart the big street scene to make this?
Goodness, no! They all will be part of a bigger city. (And other than having more space to place this building, it wouldn't help brick-wise since the Pet Shop street scene uses hardly any white and dark green.)

It's amazing I started off the same way as you in doing the sewing machine but got stuck! Could I please steal your Idea? I like this set because it represented me! I went to A&D and FIT and was a costume design major! So I couldn'y wait to get this one! |

Well you never seem to not amaze me with your highly detailed work! I do not know where to begin nor to end (that's the scary part)! I loved as always seeing your interiors! I love the Arab shopper! You must have seen by now my LEGO World Mini Figures ( http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/268224)! And the strange thing is you gave the New FRIENDS mini set a home just like I did (much humbler)MIA's DESIGN STUDIO - A MOD and a creation is born of the MOD!
