Come and visit this Classical-style Library. With its tall, imposing facade with marble pillars and stairs, marvellous panelled windows, recessed arches and stained-glass window at the back, this is the perfect place to check out a book, and relax for the day! Actually, I ought to update the picture of the Library, as I added capitals atop the pillars, and some other decoration above the protico, as it was looking a tad 'bare'.
Apr 13: The first two pics below show the updated building, as displayed for "National Library Week" at the hospital where I work ...
About this creation
Apr 13, 2012: Here is the Library being used as a display at the hospital to highlight National Library Week. Note there are some improvements to the original building!
Apr 13, 2012: Interior showing completed computer area, and you can peer down to the ground level and see the book stacks!

... maybe on the sofa underneath the large quasi-stained glass window at the rear of the Library.
Notice that the roof is built so that it is tapered towards the back, so that the front is more emphasised.
The sun always shines on the Library!
Nice shot capturing light coming through the large panelled window
Interior: 2nd floor, looking towards the rear, showing comfy couch in front of stained-glass window
Interior: View from 2nd with floor removed, showing the woodword floor of 1st floor together with the book stacks - note that the 'odd' yellow chair has since been replaced with a red one!
Interior: Another view showing detail of 1st floor furnishings

Awesome! Really detailed work - love the books on the shelves, the globe and I especially love the drop-box out front! Beautiful work. |

Great stuff ! I used a lot of those windows in a similar manner in my Wessex Castle a few months ago ! They make a large window when paired up like that, very effective !....Anyway, this is a nice looking build !>.....well done |

Your creations are incredible! The thought of the pieces, once in a pile in the closet, now on proud display at Amherst and Westside brings smiles to our faces! Keep up the good work and we will check back often!
