About this creation
I decided to take a break from pirates, and what is a better theme to go into than castle? Inspired by the new LCC, a Historic inspired project going on in the CC forums. I've started building up my army with a band of orcs and Uruk-Hai, all attacking one unfortunate archer. The landscaping here was inspired mainly by Slyowl, but I also took inspiration from many other castle builders.

Here's an artistic shot. :)

A nice shot of the action over by the orcs.

Ahh, the cliff. I sort of have a love-hate relationship with this. It was a huge pain to build with all the half stud offsets and such, and it left me literally scraping the bottom of the drawer for more slopes. I really like the way it turned out though. :)

Just another artistic shot.

Here's the scene without minifigs. The dark tan was not originally intended, but I ran out of green plates, so I had to go with it. I'm actually sort of glad I added it though, I think it flows nicely.

There's that wonderful grass slope again. :D At first, I didn't make the black base slope up too, but it looked horrid without something covering the sides, so I decided to add it in.

Here are the minifgs. My favorite would have to be the middle one, but it was fun making all of them. Expect this army to grow. 3:-D
Ok, that's all for this! This is one of my favorite things I have ever built, and I'm proud of the way it turned out. I would appreciate some advice or praise, so please rate/comment! :) Cheers!

Another great MOC that somehow escaped my notice, dang! Anyway, awesome! The landscaping's superb, as is 'fig placement. Great work! |

Just because a photo has something in focus and something out of focus, it doesn't mean that it is artistic. What you need for that is atmosphere. Speaking of the atmosphere, you could have played very well with fear on the side of the archer. This creation had a lot of potential, but the figure placement pulled it down a bit. |

The spent arrows all over the place are a nice touch. That archer better get to step'n. He is shooting at 6 guys at once? Up hill? At close range. It's not looking good for the arrow team! As always, very good photos. Attack! |

Nice! Is the center orc in the bottom picture the one you want for your sig-fig for Fellowship of the Brick?
Yes, it is. :) |

I like the way you had the outer wall dip with the landscape, it works really well. I also like the tan and the slanting of those green plates, that works well. One thing I'd have to critique is the tree, it looks rather plain. I think some slanting on the leaves work look really good here. Maybe take the pond out and put a little outcropping there instead, with the tree on top? Besides those things I really like this. |
