Ok I'm back! Now for the description. As you all should know, I haven't really devoted myself to and LotR build in a while. Lately I have been at a lost as to what to build. I was thinking and thinking until it dawned on me! Remake the Tower of Cirith Ungol! Since my last version was limited to an 8x8 baseplate I didn't have as much freedom with it. When I started to build this I got stumped on something some of you probably consider simple: how do I attach this tower to the baseplate? I feel really stupid for going all over the Internet searching for an answer while the pieces were sitting right in front of me. Jumper plates! I literally said "derp." But anyways, farther up the tower I realized it would be really boring to make the tower with no interior. So I cut out half of the tower. This is honestly the trickiest thing I have EVER built! Incorporating the stairs and some variation in the texture of the pieces on the outside took me a few hours. The floors were pretty hard to get in as well. Since the tower is round (duh) it wasn't so simple to make a floor. I had to mix up a few pieces to attatch the floors to the stairs. Now I realize you all like the stairs for some reason. Nothing to fancy really but it turned out to look really good! The figs aren't anything special either really. Same Sam I always use but I just had to use my new fig head from those Dino sets on Frodo. As for the blood. I was really worried people may not really approve of me putting so much blood in an LotR MOC but turns out you guys don't seem to really care about it. The demon head above the door was really a last minute thing. I thought the door looked a little dull so I added the demon head (it also let me show off my new 1x1 cylinder tiles). In truth, I was going to add a lot more baseplates to this but with the MOCathalon being so close I decided against it. Maybe next time?

Your Build is Fantastic, however your Sam could use work. I suggest a longer sword for Sam, such as a dagger rather than a knife, Also Sam's hair is darker red, try the same one you have except the orange color. I also think you should change his face to something that looks more like his. One more thing is you should customize your Orcs a bit. Thanks for the comment! I assure you my figs will improve once I get my hands on some of those new LotR sets!

Chris, sometimes the easiest of solutions is the winner. I often see what i think is our most complicated MOCīs gets the least ratings. Your blood is awesome, but i didnt want to mention it since what i had my eyes focused on was the stairs ( due to the use of those bricks ) and the bend and texture of the wall. As you say yourself the cutting of the tower is just genious and add more dimensions to the build. W00t , cant believe i can tell so much about a MOC after having only been here for two months. But guess what, you have teached me, i bet thats why. You inspire us. I notice details, and this is an awesome MOC. You might have been stuck with what to build. Trust me you are on the right path M8. :P Thanks for the kindest comment I have ever received! I didn't know you guys think I'm that good :S

This looks pretty nice, the idea for the stairs is great too, although it causes some gaps to appear here and there.
A few problems I can really point out though,
which are as following; orcs don't have red blood, their blood is black instead, and other
than that, I think you should use different heads for the orcs instead of only the green ones from the castle theme. Plenty of good
non-castle heads out there that work for them.
Thanks for the comment! For the problems you pointed out: (1.) Your are right, Orc blood is black but to those who didn't know that piece of info, putting a black pool around a guy would have been confusing (and hard to see). I just wanted people to be sure what it was. (2.) The stairs do have gaps. Due to the curved wall I couldn't really get them perfect. (3.) Those are the best Orc heads I have. I don't buy a lot of Star Wars which I know has a few really good Orc heads. Thanks for the comment and criticism! Always helps me do better :) |

What a great Idea, the stairs directly connected to the wall, very smart, must try that myself sometimes, Great job on the scene as well, I liked this part in the movie because it adds some humor to the rather depressing movie, great job |
