Expedition EmFiber - at this ancient Temple Wall overgrown with roots, a special plant grows which Emma plans to use in her Clothing Design project, EmFiber.
About this creation
On Expedition in Cambodia, Emma is searching for a special plant with enzymes known to be non-allergic. She hopes to grow this plant's fiber to be used in kids clothing fabrics -- especially for kids allergic to synthetic fibers.
Expedition EmFiber Jungle Truck - she borrowed from her friends who are also part of the science camp.
Emma arrives at Temple Wall: overgrown with very old plant roots, she approaches slowly to be safe of critters or anything else lurking.
Emma scouts for the plant, while being mindful it's a sacred temple. For centuries this temple has been home to Monks. Some still live in another part of the temple and they gave her their blessing to discover this wonder plant!
She locates the plant under the "surprised face" carving, just like where her Cambodian friends said it would be!
She prepares to obtain the plant, as she is careful to watch out for wildlife and other poisonous plants -- plus she doesn't want to damage the wall in any way.
She extracts the plant from the wall. Although it is rare, fortunately it will re-grow to the same length in about 2 weeks.
Success! Emma now has the plant she came on this journey to find!
Packing up gear to take it back to the science camp. There she can analyze the enzymes and begin the process of replicating it for her fabric & clothing project: EmFiber Clothing Design.
Farewell wave to the sacred wall -- she takes a moment to honor the life and spirit of the temple wall, as well as the wonderful nature surrounding it.
Leaving the temple wall, Emma looks around to be sure she is heading the right way as she checks her compass.
Heading back to the Science Camp, where she and her friends will begin the process of analyzing the plants enzyme properties. They hope to isolate the one which is said to be hypo-allergenic and safe for people with allergies to synthetic fibers.
Back at camp, Emma washes her hair after being in the jungle. She brought along her favorite red towel to dry her hair.
