More adversaries for the CyberAgents
About this creation

By the end of the 21st Century corporate sponsored development into genetic engineering had become widespread. This resulted in a generation of custom made "designer" mutants. But the turn of the century saw a dramatic change in public opinion on mutants and other "upgraded" humans, collectively referred as Human+.

With the advent of the appointment of a pro-human united Earth government (called UGov), Human+ beings were quickly marginalised, criminalised and persecuted. This resulted inevitably in the formation of a militant Human+ faction known as The Alliance.

To combat Alliance attacks on civilians UGov created the B-series mecha units. Piloted by pure-breed humans and operated using neurostatic technology, which allowed them to control the mecha by scanning their own thoughts. Since this technology did not require physical interface with the controls, it was acceptable to the largely technophobic humanists.

B23 is a battlefield unit. Deployed in large numbers, it is equipped with a high powered plasma beam rifle and a mid range grenade launcher. Designed primarily to take down large mutant monsters and break up armies of cyborgs and humanoid mutants, as well as taking down tanks and other mecha operated by the enemy.

Due to their perceived neutrality, (pure-breeds have serious doubts this is true) CyberAgents are also considered targets. In fact, it is more likely to see Grunners taking on a Skater-boy than it is to see them taking down a mutant beast.

Grunner is a portmanteau word and is taken from Green and Gunner, and is meant to describe their appearance and function.

EDIT:

I've done a sort of redesign of the Grunner, this time giving him hands and moving the weapons to the shoulders. I've not cheated this time, giving him a long range anti-tank weapon and a smaller mini gun type weapon (similar to a gattling gun I suppose).

Grunner still applies as he's now Grey/Gunner rather than Green/Gunner.

Notes:

I wanted something that packed fire power since the blaight was a sword fighter and not really an anti-tank unit. When I discovered the new Hero Factory weapons pieces I decided to cheat and add those instead of creating a weapon from scratch. I seem to be doing a lot of cheating with this concept. First minifig heads, now bionicle weapons...

EDIT NOTES:

The new Grunner is different in a couple of ways, the sensor load out is slightly modified, this is to represent variable vision capabilities ranging from infra-red to macroscopic, allowing for combat both at night and over much greater distances than his older counterpart.

The addition of hands was to give him more versatility and to allow a self righting system, the previous two designs would pretty much be helpless if knocked off their feet.

It occurred to me after completing the design that technically, such a heavy cannon would require a more sturdy mecha to operate it, as the potential recoil would knock him off his feet. However, since most of the UGov weapons are "energy" based, there shouldn't be any more recoil than you get from a laser.

This one is definitely the main enemy of Skater-Boy, though I've yet to create his Mutant or Cyborg nemesis.
