What if the Second World War had only started in 1949? What kind of fighters would have been operational in the Luftwaffe?

Dogfight between two EF-1000 and two Mig-21

A EF-1000 intercepts a group of Tu-16 bombers.

Junkers EF-1000 “Thor”

The Junkers EF-1000, nickname “Thor”, was a single-seat, three-engine, all-weather, long-range supersonic jet interceptor fighter/fighter-bomber originally developed for the Luftwaffe by Junkers.

The EF-1000, different of other interceptors of its time, was designed with a heavy armament of cannons, 4 20mm Mauser MG-213 cannons in the fuselage and 2 30mm MK-108 cannons under the wings.

Beginning in 1955, it set 15 world records, including an absolute speed record, and an absolute altitude record.

Retractable landing gear.

Rear view. Note the three engines and the rocket engines.

Quoting Josh Kaufmann Awsome work,The B-58 can travel faster than Mach 2 so I doubt this little plane could catch it.
The Thor had a max. speed of Mach 2.3 and it could carry external rocket engine to achieve even higher speeds. So in the end, the B-58 was a easy prey.

Quoting Michael Bragg At first I wasn't enjoying the overall "blocky" feeling of the plane. But the more pictures I saw, the more it grew on me — it's almost like a video game design, like something I would have enjoyed playing in the Super Nintendo era. So yeah, the retro thing is really working for you here! Nice MOC!
Thanks Michael ^^

Quoting Marc dZ From above, the Thor has wings looking very similar with the BAe Lightening'swings. Nice build and nice pics (the vortex effect is great!!)
Thanks! ^^ Since most planes built by the british, american and soviets after the war used technology developed by the germans, I used the BAe Lightening as a starting point. Instead of two engines one above the other, I prefered to use three engines. The wings were similar

Quoting El Barto ! Wicked fighter, Dude! It's frightening to think what they might have come up with, even in just a few more years.
Fortunately, the war ended in 1945. But the "what if" theme is always good for different and unique projects. Thanks El Barto!

Quoting DeTomaso Pantera These guys are very cool! The one thing I'm not sure about is the red and yellow plates in the middle. The rest is excellent. Well done!
Many German fighters used that at the end of the war. Probably for Identification
