AG-1 Dragonoir
The AG-1 Dragonoir! You may recognize this mecha from my post, Gundam-like mecha (WIP). Keep in mind, this is NOT a Gundam, but more of an experiment. It's Gundam-like, not Gundam.
About this creation
The AG-1 Dragonoir, my first experiment with Gundam-like elements. This mecha is built for speed and can battle on land or air, aided by it's boosters and AeroFlightBackpack! (AFB)

The AG-1 is easily capable of reaching the speed of sound with only it's AFB. A direct rival of the AD-JRL Edge, the Dragonoir laughs in your face if you think your mecha is faster than this one.

A backview of the AG-1 Dragonoir. Their are 67 propulsion vents on the Dragonoir, each one much bigger than the AD-JRL Edge's vents.

The AG-1 Dragonoir is faster than most projectile weaponry, so we here at MMWI decided to give it two (2, yes, two) Highly Charged Beam Sabres. These weapons can be used for ambushes and aerial combat. The Dragonoir's favorite way to destroy your jet is to accelerate to the speed of sound, quickly thrust one of it's beam sabres into your engine and get the heck out of there before it gets caught in the explosion.

Another favorite tactic of the AG-1 is the X-Rush (yes, I made that up). To perform the X-Rush, the Dragonoir crosses it's two beam sabres and accelerates past the speed of sound. The Dragonoir then charges at a foe and right before impact cuts to the sides from it's crossed beam sabre position, slicing the enemy into pieces and giving the illusion that the AG-1 went right through the enemy.

The AFB can be discharged by the Dragonoir, allowing for more movement and flexibility. The AFB can be put on autopilot, allowing it to roam freely whilst the AG-1 decimates any opponents on the ground. The AFB can reattach, allowing the Dragonoir to take flight once again. As the boosters are still attached on the ground, the AG-1 is still quite fast.

This thing has.... A lot of thrusters... I like it. EDIT: @LTE @Forte. Drago--Noir.... Forte--Noir. See? Primarily, however, the porportions and tecniqies are very similar to Forte's.

Quoting Forte Noir After examining the .LXF file, that name began to make a lot more sense. :P
I don't quite... understand. It made more sense?

Well, I'll just get straight to what I think of this. I have a few issues with this mech's proportions, the first being he beam sabers. Take a look at Thomas Z's beam saber bases on his mechs, and you'll notice they are much thinner. Yours are very large and bulky in comparison, and they look REALLY bizarre when the unit is holding them. Another issue I have with proportion are the thrusters, specifically the ones on the legs. They look kinda jutting out and add bulk that the legs didn't need in the first place. The backpack also adds uneeded mass, perhaps a more compact, yet equally powerful, design is in order. Finally, (and this is kinda minor) the battle strategies you've described kinda seem unrealistic, the X-thingy in particular. My guess is, because of the width of the blades (small) and the size of the mech (large), this thing would explode on impact whilst in the X-formation. The bits of shrapnel wouldn't be able to get out of the way fast enough, meaning this mech's armor would probably be shredded at the least. Thos objections aside, you've got an alright mech that could use some work.
