My second transporter has arrived JAH1L. This truck (otherwise known as 'JAHIL' because of it's number plate) is what transported the John Player Special Lotus F1 cars to races between 1973-1980. It's a funny looking creature and as far as I know there was only one of them made which survives to this day. It is based on a Marshalls of Cambridge chassis, basically a coach chassis.

This is very nice for a beginner LOL! You should do one of these in black, oh wait a minute, you did, I didn't notice! This would be perfect for another remake of KITT and Knight Rider. And this took you only a couple of minutes to build while you were watching the Avengers on BBC? Oh, how about another remake of the A-Team or Airwolf with an expanded ground crew and unlimited finances? |

As you posted on my Cosmic Cruiser, LDD is a good idea for the mosaic. You can start with a pattern of black 1x1 plates and then go on with the colour tool. Once satisfied with the pattern you can replace the longer horizontal lines with longer plates. I've tried that and it works really well. |

Quoting DeTomaso Pantera Quoting Nils O. Have you thought about a mosaic? There's so much space for one...
I'd add one if I had the money, i've already gone way over budget on this beast. I'd want to use dark tan to represent the gold and that's not cheap. I might make it on LDD and see how much it would cost. Yeah, dark tan is quite expensive. I've seen some dark tan 1x1 plates in bulks of 100 on BrickLink for €0,06 each which would be €6,- for the bulk. Maybe you can start with a design and then look how many plates you need. |

W O W !!! - OK, I had to reboot my brain system to restart thinking and to shut my mouth after seeing the pictures :-)) I didn't think it was possible, but I'd say this one is even cooler than the Mercedes/Porsche Transporter. The design is so smooth and you even added more details in this one. My favourite parts are the seats (the driver's seat and the "bench") and the workbench (wow, those drawers...). And it looks so cool in black. Maybe you could use a mosaic instead of stickers for the side panels. You could start with dark tan and later decide if you want to "invest" some money for golden plates. But that's just an idea... It would look awesome with stickers, too. Great job! :-)) |

The only thing i'd really like to see is brik-built lettering. Decals will look more accurate but for me they aren't what Lego is about. Cheers Ape! I have considered doing the brick built lettering but it will completely mess up the interior of the truck and I will have to fork out another £30 (which I don't have at the moment) to do it. It is a nice idea but it's not going to happen i'm affraid. Unless somebody sponsors me to do it (wishful thinking). Glad you likey!
