My second go at Steampunk, I feel it turned out much better. The only reason this was built was to give the fig's something to ride in, but as I went on, I really enjoyed it. Don't think I'll tear it down anytime soon.
About this creation
Developed early in 1840, the "Gryphon" Type Aircraft was designed for simple patrol and investigation duties, often at or around docks. As it was not intended for long distance flight, it carries few supplies, and a somewhat limited fuel supply. In the event of a standard customs search going awry, a small cannon was supplied, proving very effective against balloon reliant craft.
Great little craft you got there! What makes it extra special is that we can see the engine and the plumbing! Something about seeing the working inerds really is what 'makes' a steampunk design. Those figs are funky(guess I should say... punky) too!
Thanks for the tip, I'll see if I can smooth out the edges a bit when I have the time. Parts are a little limited in the colours I chose though, more of an oldie myself (few dark blueish grey and reddish brown pieces)
This is a nicely shaped craft. I always like seeing engines, since I usually am too lazy to build them. The propellers look good. I might suggest working on the railings and siding more to try to eliminate the cracks. Even the railings don't look so bad since they give a blunt and angled look. Good job!
