Frigate used by a party of the mandalorian order
About this creation
This Frigate has grown on my own imagination, and general star wars styles; as the mandalorian is an sort of warrior lifestyle and codex, they would appreciate any powerful armed ship, with superior technology...
notes:
- the capacity of the LDD program is, by 16550 bricks at its end, so i couldn't built the engines ( only the jets), and the docking for two escape-pods ( rear sidewalls, there are still holes);
and also i could only separate the upperdeck in rooms, but they have no interior ( you may be disapointed now, but the tower and the cockpit have interiour!)
- on some pictures you see the loose bricks on the left side, wich the program couldn't calculate the fitting, and they lost in the construction ( you may wonder)
features:
- hangar for two minifigsize X-Wing, or several smaller fighters
- cockpit is a small, undockable ship ( the mothership has still the control-tower)
- the roof, and the upper-deck are easy to detach, in three sections, for playing inside
In real, i have 12 mandalorian minifig warriors for it ( will buy the bricks for the frigate trough the next years)
YET, this is just a pre-version, i have many more ideas for this, but i have to split this model i different files, so that the program can handle the amount of bricks ( so i can build on without the program broke down when saving the file!); and i can't wait to buy every month the next bricks for it, to make the mandalorian frigate real.
From the side, looks a bit like a shark
technics,..., the section between the sand-coloured tiles should indicate torpedo-lauchers ( the frigate has total 12 of it 4 per side, 4 to the front)
the transparent blue bricks are energy-clutches
The cockpit, is an own ship, with own engine, weapons, generator, hatches, and antennae
Cockpit undocked, on mission
Cockpit landed
The big console
the cockpit generator and engine
just count the jets, and tell me, if they are enough.
maybe a closer view
This is just a sketch of a bigger engine, and more sharklike nose, i have to split the LDD model in two halfs, for building on ( less bricks pro file)
05.02.2012 new engine
The new engine; in contra to my sketch, i built only fourfold engines, and round instead of hexagonal, but they are real big!
17 jets per big engine, 7 per maneauvre-engine
connected to the rear half of the frigate
Intersection, Weaponary:
- 12 shortrange small turbolaser, on the roof ( i will mount the same amount at the bottom too), 2 on the cockpit; main purpuse for cut off fire against enemy fighters
- 16 precise medi-canons, leaded by sonic-antennae from the control-tower, 1 medi-canon on the cockpit, 2 double medi-canon in the technics-slits
- 2 double power-canons at the sidepipes of the cockpit ( even the cockpit on mission, will never be in danger!)
- 1 double ion-puls-canon on the front spineend
- 12 photon-torpedo-launchers, as I mentioned before
the heart, the control-tower
upper tower deck
lower tower deck
ion-pulse canon, inactivates the electronics of other ships
sliding door ( 6 in the upper deck)
preasure door, closed, when the front cockpit is off
simple elevator between hangar and upperdeck, and ladder with banisters
bacta tank
doors for cargo ( like an marine cargo-ship)
The Stomach, digesting an captured X-Wing
The X-Wing ( forgive me the holes in corners of the hangar, as i mentioned, in the notes, there will be docking bays for two escape-pods.)
Hope you enjoyed the trip trough the mandalorian frigate, please left an little comment, what you think of it, thanks!
From time to time, i will update this page with new pictures of, e.g. the bigger engine, and of course, when I built the first sections in real.

Brilliant, but you could not finish it, because of the limit. In case you do not know there is a way...Make a copy of your huge file. Open the file, cut the ship in two parts by removing parts. Select connected parts and remove. You have the back of the ship now that is smaler and easy to handle. Build your engine. Just one. Check if it fits and put it aside. Remove the rest of the ship. Just the engine left now. Save Open the huge file and import your engine. Select connected parts and copy 2 3 whatever. Now the tricky part...To place the engine on the right spot it is best to "hide" with hide tool all of the possible studs where the engine could click on. So hide all the studs you do not need and that are in the area where you put the engine. Normaly this should fit. Of course this is a monster build. I have some experience with LDD and when I go over 2500bricks I make different parts in the way I explaned above. Smaler files, easy to move around and in the end easy to make building instructions, because I think the computer would need a whole day to make the instructions for this one. I hope my view may have helped you, but maybe you did know all of this. When I see how you made your Viper, I must say that you are skilled in using the LDD program.
Thank you very much for the detailed manual for combining several section-files together - i must say, that you mentioned some points, of using the LDD, i had not known yet.
I will try it soon. |

OMG! Is this real? It must have taken weeks to put that together. Are you saying this would have over 16.000 bricks in the final version? Insane! |

Wow, this just blows me away! When you get this in brick form, you'll be rivalling some of Kelso's stuff!
I don't think, that i am that skilled... |

I want to say thanks to the comments on this page, and on the predecessor-page ( mandalorian frigate in building state) they encouraged me a lot. I am just sorry, that i created a new page, should have just updated the old one.
I want to confess, i will make it real, my finacial situation will only slow it a bit. |
