Centurion ASOMT
Yeah, he's got headlights in his chest, what of it?
About this creation
Sorry to be gettin this thing up so late in the contest, me and Andrew's plan was to upload our entries a the same time, but he's been so preoccupied with his new adventure map, I fear he may not be entering at all.

This is my entry- The Centurion Assault & Special Operations Mecha Trooper, or ASOMT. More commonly known as A-Stompers by the troops on the ground, these powerful mechs are designed to be maneuverable, speedy, and most importantly, deadly. The centurion comes with a heavy machine gun, a shield that can be attached at the shoulder for extra protection, SMG's, 2 wrist mounted swords, and a jetpack! If this turns out to be a fairly popular model I may add a more technical description and persue the frame more. Now then, onto some pictures!

My first time trying to add in glow from the muzzle flash, it turned out okay.

DESIGNER'S NOTES: This was a really fun build, and I finally get to show off the new shoulder joint articulation idea I've been working on, which ads a 3rd point of articulation rather than the usual 2 with just a T joint. Though I had originally planned for this being minifig scale, I now see this better as a microscale mech that would normally be around the size of an MBS (not sure if I'll pursue making a large version of it or not). Hope you guys like it!

EDIT: I am formally retracting my entry into the mecha contest group, on the grounds that A: I never added in links to anyone else's creations in the contest, B: I submitted it so late and C: I never voted on anyone else's creation in the contest.

Quoting Nathan Brainbuilder Very nice! Nice effect with the machine gun shells. Btw, how do you keep the white background?
I've noticed that if I take the pictures in the high resolution setting in LDD, the background is white. If I take it in lower resolution, the background is whatever the image background was during the picture. Hope that helps ya.

Very good. If it weren't for the forehead (unless it's deigned to be used as a battering ram, if so you get 6/5 for using your head =D) and the new shoulder, which although it adds posability it looks a bit weak in my opinion, like a well placed pistol round could lop off an arm, you'd be getting a perfect score. 4/5

Quoting andros tempest before I give a review for the contest, have we relaxed the rule about posting links to the other entries? Because I notice they aren't mentioned in the description.
I appologize andross and LTE, I completely forgot =O thank you for bringing that to my attention

I see, well, you could run with the Role of the Centurion, seeing how they were leaders of a fair amount of Soldiers, anywhere from 100-1000, depending on the era. That way all you would have to do is integrate story aspects, no changes to the Unit. I'm someone who likes to work with every aspect of a Unit, including the Name and Presentation, so I can't help but notice such things. If you managed to see the Urocyon's Page, you would understand.

Quoting Andrew AKA Hump-Free While I think this is well built for the most part, I'm not feeling the Centurion aspect, assuming you are referring to the Roman Military Officer. And despite the fact you have skill posing with LDD, I'm not feeling the presentation as a whole.
In all honesty I got bored with the project and I really didnt do a good job at all presenting, so I agree with you there. I also didnt research much into what a roman centurion really is, and just simply tacked the name on cause it sounded better than my originally planned name, the Hoplite.

Interesting design I must say! Love the gun. Combined with the blue color it reminds me of a Starcraft Marine. Now for a little criticism: the head feels a bit too big and the shoulders are practical, but a bit plain looking for me. I like the feets and the way you made the upper body a bit bigger, like real brute..oh and did I mentione that I lova that gun? Anyways the presentation is very good too! All in all nice job 4/5

ahhh, your latest jaw-dropping Mech. as always, it's incredible. well, might as well start off with the negative criticism, just to get it over with. first off, the head. it's really not that bad, but if you bumped it a stud or so backward and cleaned off that odd bump thing on its forehead (sorry. it looks nice on the Goliath, but it just doesn't fit on the Centurion) it'd look great. second, the feet. they're well-designed, work well, and are practical, but just don't look good. probably due to their monkey-ness (and I have an odd dislike of monkeys). third, the Mech is a little out of proportion, at least compared to your other Mechs. it's just not... chunky enough to be a Chunkblaster Mech. :P I really don't know how to fix that, unfortunately. perhaps beefing up the lower arm/lower leg segments a bit? fourth... wait, there is no fourth. anyway, I love it. I can definitely see this becoming the next big brute of an MBS like the Goliath. oh, and I love that big gun it has, too. it's like a cross of a bowcaster, an assault rifle, and a grenade launcher, then doubled in size. that alone could win the contest for you probably. please make an MBS-scale version of it.

@LTE, lol, if a design aspect came up between us that we both liked, we'd probably tell each other and both use it. Even if he did use my design, It wouldn't be called stealing. We're buds; using similar designs as each other is what we do.

You NAILED the look I was going for when I made my entry. A-Stomper? LOVE IT! At first, I tought you stole Bio's UGM-7 shoulders, but I examined it more closely and saw the triple joint. Nice! 5/5.

Even though I got a sneak peek of this before you released it, I'm still very impressed and surprised. Excellent work as usual, the only thing that looks a tad odd to me would be the forehead, as it's kinda jutting out a bit much for my tastes. However, still a great mech, 5/5. BTW, I am still planning on entering this contest, I'm just procrastinating.

Nicely done, and I can definitely see this as a full size microscale model. My own Conka was original made for that, and I still haven't decided which scale it will be. Good design, Great flexibility, especially the feet, which look great with it. Nice work Chunk. ^Blub^
