It was strange that he was an astrologer because he lived underground, so he had to go above ground to see the stars. One day when he went above ground he was attacked by the black Rakshi in Ko-Metru he ran and ran until he reached the base of an abandend learning tower where he found a frozen toa stone just sitting there. The black Rakshi had him cornered, luckily he'd brought his telescope with him. "No time to find out what element it is." He said. So he smashed the ice with his telescope, grabbed the stone and he changed. He grew taller, stronger even his telescope transformed into 2 sword-staffs. He then defeated the black Rakshi with his newly developed power of telekinesis and ripped it's head off. He brought himself back to Onu-Metru and found the Turaga and the Toa of Earth and told them who he was and what he'd done. The Turaga told him to join the toa in protecting Metru Nui and finding their destiny.
