This is my second version of the PF Extreme Cruiser. It has motorized driving and steering and working lights.
About this creation
As I have mentioned, this is my second PF Extreme Cruiser 8081. The first can be found here.
The driving gear ratio is 21:25. In order to connect the XL motor to the drive gears, I added a 20t gear and a 12t gear. Due to the reinforcing beams around the gears, they do not click, unlike in the other PF Extreme Cruiser.
The IR receiver had to be mounted a bit higher in this one than in the previous one.
Another improvement in this motorized Extreme Cruiser is that the large lights light up instead of the small ones.
I had no room to use a worm gear for steering, so I had to use some other gears instead. These gears produce a gear ratio of 5:1. Unfortunately, the medium motor sticks up slightly through the top of the car.
The final major change was the positioning of the battery box. In my previous PF Extreme Cruiser, the battery box was on its side with the lever on it hard to access. On this one, it stands up on its end, making the switch easy to use.
