MOC Speed Contest Round 4: Phip's Ship
About this creation
Here's my entry for round 4 of Flare's MOC Speed Contest. The category is "Prepare for MOC Speed!
How fast exactly is "MOC Speed"? Show us, and the machine/ship/vehicle/whatevah that can accomplish it!" I decided to build a starship to cover the "Speed" part, and I thought it would belong to Mr. Kelso and Mr. Phipson, as they are skilled "MOC"ers and moderators of "MOC"pages. Whenever they anger Sean Kenney they can now make a quick escape, and wait until everything boils over. Like when Chris Phipson spilled coffee on the MOCpages servers...

Mark Kelso and Officer Phipson standing in front of "Phip's Ship" as Mr. Phipson named it, much to Kelso's chagrin. A painting of Mark Kelso adorns the flank, somewhat un-detailed since it was Phipson, not Kelso who painted it.

The other side has a picture of Chris Phipson in his trademark sunglasses.

The front. Getting all the angles right on this part was a difficult, yet enjoyable task.

The engines. Also a small precision thruster near the bottom.

The back of the cockpit area.

The cockpit, it was the first part I built. I'm surprised that I hadn't used the Slave One windscreen before; it's really a great piece.

Control consoles.

A Harry Potter painting by Mr. Kelso.

A stereo provides amusement on long journeys.

Phipson and Kelso at the helm!

Another cockpit shot.

This photo really shows the scale nicely. This is easily the largest starship I've ever built, and it dwarfs the minifigures.

Thanks for viewing!

Quoting Chris Phipson You did really well on those faces! I'm very flattered here so thank you. You asked for advice on the ship in the advice group sooo... Overall not a bad design but it does seem a bit "blocky" to me (go figure, LEGO is blocks right?). There may have been a parts quantity issue (or time) but if you could have elongated it a bit more it would have smoothed out the look a bit. Overall I like it though. The fun playability was a factor as well that gave you another point in your cap. Nice work and keep em coming! ~ Chris.
Thanks for the advice!

I literally Laughed out loud with the Phipson spilling the coffee part. I sort of hoped that the final round would be you and me but you just HAD to go so slow on this. JK. Anyways you did great I honestly think that all your entries in this contest were better than mine.

Great shaping for such a massive build. I didn't notice how large it was until you put the figs right next to the ship. I also like the faces on the side.

I can't believe you got that done in five days! This is really cool, and the concept is great, too; The idea of Phipson and Kelso saving the day with an epic strafing run in this baby would be quite a sight to behold! :D

Interpretation of Category: 4/5 Photography/Set-up: 4/5 Quality of Build: 4/5 My Personal Rating: 4/5 Bonus Points: 1/5 Total: 17/25 This is a great entry with some interesting shaping. I think some bigger engines would be more fitting though.
