Motorized Tank WIP 5
Here is the next WIP for my tank. These pictures show that basically, most of the bottom hull is complete. This leaves the tank at about 85% percent complete. Also, sorry for the blurry main pic. I was in a little hurry.
About this creation

A front, head on picture of the front of the tank. I am not a big fan of those headlights, and if anyone has an idea on a better way to make them, drop a message.

In this picture, you can see the suspension in action.

A back view of the tank. I should remind you, that those tail lights do turn on. And if you are wondering why it is lopsided, that is because of the brick that is undernath one of the tracks.

A picture of that troublesome turntable of mine. I have tried a few combonations of plates and bricks to build the turret, but they usually end up looking either ugly, or hit that little, "thing", or wall behind it.

And the last pic, a photo of the suspension WITHOUT the skirts on. And once again, a great many thanks to Tommy Mizzone. (I hoped I spelled that right!)

idea for the turret: try moving the elevated part about 2-3 studs back and now you may want to make a 4x4 elevated part near the front because the top of the iq receiver is sticking out like this file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Leone/My%20Documents/LEGO%20Creations/Models/Tops.png Choose witch one is better

Quoting Caleb Perkins I'm working on a motorized tank of my own, so I'm very interested in this. I've decided to use the independent roller suspension George put in his tutorial, but yours looks like it works pretty well. What piece are you using for your turret? I have a turntable, but all of the connections are technic-oriented and it doesn't have studs on it.
Thanks for the comment. To answer your comment about the turntable, I believe this to be an older counterpart of the only Technic turntable. The dimensions are the same, with the exception of the addition of studs. I got mine from an older Lego City XXL crane.

Quoting Tommy Mizzone Wow! This is looking fantastic! I can already tell its going to be one of my favorite tanks on mocpages! Your one of my favorite builders now! Thanks again for the credit for the suspension! BTW, you spelled my name PERFECTLY! =) Also for the lights, try modifying the lights on my tank and using something like them! Once again, great job, and keep up the good work! -Tommy
Thanks! I can't wait to begin (again). I had to change a few parts, so there is a real long road ahead, but someday...

Very nice work! A lot more complicated then what i usually build but it cetainly does seem to be progressing just fine :-) If i may make a suggestion regarding your problems with the turret and the slope on the elevated section you could try extending the entire section to just in front of the turret mount and place slots for viewing ports there. Or perhaps lowering it to a 2/3 brick height if there's enough space underneath.

Looks pretty good so far. I don't think I can help with the turret, or the lights. I'm not so good with those. I know how to explain Zachary Parfrey's comment better. Move the bricks you have the lights in right now back a few studs, and then put a round piece like you have on the taillights on, then put the longer 1x1 cylinder on it. Hope this helps.

Quoting Zachary Parfrey I really like the tank so far, now for the headlights. Im not very good with the headlights either, but you can put a clear 1x1 circle plate on vertically on the parts, or put them further in the hull of the tank and put a 1x1x3 clear circular cylinder(alliteration, yay!) on the brick that the lights are connected to, and then that way they go outside of the hull and theres no odd looking peice there. Tell me if i need to explain more, im not good at explaining things.
Honestly, yes, I am a little lost. Put a few links to Bricklink, that may help out!
