Triptych
The steroids epidemic claims yet another victim -- hang gliders.
About this creation
Sometimes you bend the bricks to your will, and you end up building just what was in your head. Sometimes the bricks bend you to theirs, and your MOC ends up completely different from what you'd intended. Then there are the times you compromise, and you end up with things like the Triptych.

Triptych, from the Greek trip = three, and tych = fold.

I had this underslung gun lying around for months (in yellow form) just waiting for a suitable craft to be grafted onto.

I had intended for a minifig known as Mr. Black to be the pilot, but he went missing. I suspected the cat, a known Lego eater and all-around shifty character, but it turned out to be my own disorganization. By the time I found him this blonde chick had already made herself at home in there.

For a ship that's going to come strafing in from overhead, that seems like an awful lot of exposed hosing on the underside. I hope they're nothing vital.

It took me forever to figure out how to get a picture that showed the details on this ship. A professional photographer I ain't.

That'll teach me to make a mostly black ship.

   I wasn't trying to build a Batwing, I swear.

I almost like it better upside down -- it looks like some kind of crazy hovertank. All I'd have to do is flip the pilot around.

This is so original, it stands in a class of its own! I've never thought about building a ship like this before! Great job, keep it up!

Very interesting design there. The canopy on the front/bottom would render this a great design for a bomber of some sorts.

Whooa .... nice hanglider ! ... At first glance, the main pic looked like a mechanical blue-tailed hawk making an attack dive ... but when i clicked on the close-up image, i saw that i was looking at it backwards (lol) ... and when i viewed the 3rd (or 4th?) pic down, it looked like a hawk again (to me), perched on it's mechanical legs (landing gear).

Excellent MOC. The Greek name is cool, too. Here's an idea: give it a cockpit that rotates like the B-wing, and call it a hang glider that can change into a hovertank.

Too funny. I can almost imagine the puzzlement upon your face as you look at your creation and try to explain it to the masses. I like the shape and the colours. As any car buff will tell you - black is the hardest colour to capture well. I have not been impressed with the pictures of some of my creations because of this colour. Still, excellent job - very creative. Lee.
