Based on the GI JOE Wolverine
About this creation
I had been wanting to do a missile tank and something with treads for a while, but treads can be tricky on LDD. Therefore, I borrowed Lego 4 Life's Bradley treads and then modified them (shorter).
I then proceeded to use the GI JOE Wolverine (see below) as my model for the build. However, I wanted to make 3 changes that I felt were good improvements:
1) Create hatches so the crew isn't exposed. I mean, when you have a sexy female figure as the driver, I can understand an open cockpit, but in real life, you get shot and it's game over. Not to mention, it can't be good to have missiles launching right over your head.
2) Add a second crew member. Driver + gunner/missile commander.
3) Add a coaxial MG to mow down infantry.
The LongBow's main purpose is to intercept forces before they get too close. Advance recon, such as drones, satellites, etc. can locate approaching bad guys and the LongBow can knock them out before the reach the range of conventional artillery.
It is armed with 2 rocket pods that feature 8 missiles each. The can be varied according to mission, but a standard 8x8 SAS:SAM assortment or 12x4 mix are the most common variations. It also has the aforementioned 7.62mm MG that can be controlled safely from inside the tank.

Other features: Turret rotates 360 and pods tilt, 2 storage bins (1 on each side), towing mounts
Thanks for checking it out.

Super spiffy, but you're missiles being put over and behind the treads might not work out, what with recoil and all. (I overthink things =P) I like the opening hatches and road wheels. Very neat design overall. |

J, I did a mountain bike and had similar issues getting the virtual chain to behave, check it out, I posted a one pic tutorial on about 20 hours worth of cussing and throwing stuff, and then finally figuring it out. Killer tank! Chris |

Nice design, be nice to see in the flesh. Just a small suggestion, try covering up the studs with some smooth plates for a cleaner look. |

Nicely done, I think you should place the turret a bit more to the front (just 1 or 2 studs will do), I like how it opens up to reveal the interior, good job. |

It looks great, and is a good mod. The missiles and just about everything was well done. However, I have a small nitpick. Technically speaking, it's artillery istead of a tank. |
