Alternative model of Creator set 5867 Super Speedster. My 15th from this set. Just another Go Kart, I know, not very original.
About this creation
Go Karts as an alternative have been done numerous times. Even the official set has a Go Kart as an alternative. So why another one? Well, the official one looked a bit odd to me with weird proportions, and besides, I just wanted to build something quick. So here's my attempt.
Go Karts do not have a big engine, but because they are very light and low to the ground, they still (seem to) go very fast.
Everything is minimalistic; direct steering and direct drive, gas- and break pedal, that's pretty much it.
Because they don't have any fancy design, karts look a bit strange, especially from the side.The wheels are very small compared to the rest.
Go Karts are also quite wide giving them great stability.
The seat has a prominent place. I really tried to get the proportions right, both to the pedals and the steering wheel.
I had to build a steering wheel as the one provided in the set is too small. Instead I used this as the cap on the small petrol tank.
Bottom view. Just a few plates to build everything else on.
It may not be great, but I think it looks a bit more like a Go Kart than the official alternate.

Hi :), looks good to me and the proportions are perfect - low and wide. Maybe not up to your usual very high standard but it is still another excellent alternate. I love the steering wheel and engine. Thanks so much for your recent feedback on my stuff. |
