Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 1970
I made a lot of mopar muscle cars. So this time a Chevy! And no LDD! :D It's the '70 Chevelle. It is the same scale as my Veyron too by the way. And those 4 black parts by the doors needed to be the same color as the car. (dark bluish gray) But they aren't for sale in that color yet... So I used black parts. Enjoy!
About this creation
This Chevelle has a beast under the hood; the 454 LS6 engine with 450 BHP.
This car has: opening hood, doors and trunk. It has some really nice details; like the shape at the rear.

Front,

Look at the shape of the rear...

And now look how the shape at the rear goes down! Just like the real car! ;)

Rear, side,

Look how big the rear is... and it's just like the real car; I really like that.

Top,

The hood open,

With the big 454 engine under it.

Trunk open,

Trunk and hood open,

Doors open,

And here is the interior.

Everything open,

And a nice picture of the rear.

Here we have them both, the Veyron and the Chevelle.

I hope you liked it!

Quoting Oran Cruzen I hope you do not mind a second comment, well it has been a while since my first one, anyway, seeing this again I felt it deserved a little more commenting. Great work of Lego creationism! I see the features of the 70 Chevelle in this Lego rendition of yours. Side note, I was 19 when this model came out. OAFOL (Old AFOL)! LOL
Thank you very much Oran. I don't mind a second comment, I actually like it. Gives me the idea how much people like it. I'm 18 right now, and I really don't like the cars that are coming out right now. In fact, I'm going to buy a classic car soon.

I find myself coming back to this, just to look at it again and again. It is a truly brilliant creation. It's so perfectly built, the shaping is exactly like real car. Its so cool!

Wow, Rick, this is a prime example of how to build a LEGO car and ditto for your Bugatti Veyron. It's too bad that LEGO doesn't make windows for vehicles like this but you certainly have the style down to a T when it comes to reproducing their styles. By the way, this is one of my most favorite muscle cars and its GM clones, the Oldsmobile 440, Buick Skylark, Oldsmobile 442, the late 1960s/early 1970s Pontiac GTO, and Buick GSX were no slouches, either. Still, for all it's worth, every time that I see one of these vehicles, I'm instantly reminded of some of the Need for Speed, Test Drive, or Midnight Club games. Anyway, keep up the good work, Rick. This Chevy and your Bugatti are totally beautiful builds.

Quoting Lego Builders Really good! Everything is perfect, save the gaps because you slanted the sides, but it's practically impossible to fix them at this scale. Where did you get DB grey? Bricklink? 5/5 ~LB Jr.

Haha, this is so much cooler than any of the Chevelles I ever built! The amazing angles that you came up with for the body seem like like they would make any opening features impossible. But you pulled it off! (AGAIN)

Ooooooh Yeaaaaah! There finally is a pretty big Chevy Chevelle 1970 on MOCpages!!! Fantastic! In fact you have pretty well detailled it and give it many open stuff! Altough, I think the wheels you have done aren't in the "muscle style" of the car... I don't know what kind of lego wheels you can put rather than these ones... However this work completly deserved a 5/5! Great work! ; )

Simply PHENOMENAL! Very well-rounded and timeless design. I like the over smooth look and no matter what angle you view it from, it's most defenitly a Chevelle. Great work on capturing a difficult shape with bricks. Five Heads for you, sir!

Quoting Joost Cumps Wow this is excellent. In this color you can almost feel how big that engine is!. I do have some questions: The two parts in black, you're talking about, as those two by ones? Amazingly that you can have all other parts except those basic ones... Second question (if you're willing to share a secret) Are those angled sides attached? How did you do that? The result is simply stunning though. Keep on moccing!!! (btw your Veyron is even more beautiful in real bricks than it is in LDD)
Thank you very much! Those black parts aren't some two by ones. I will show you: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=48336. You can see that it isn't available in dark bluish gray (the color I need). And yes, those angled sides are attached. With these parts: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6019.

Another great model from you Rick! 2 days running :-) I love the colour of this! Each time i do a bricklink order i buy a bit of dark grey as there is a car I want to build that would look best in that colour. The overall shaping of this car is excellent. The features at the back are the best bit. The one (4 things) i don't like is the wheels, but thats only minor. Well done 5/5
