About this creation

Newly formed Quint 10 received the third newly delivered apparatus before Christmas, with their new vehicle being a new 2012 Ferrara Igniter HD-77' rear-mount 4x4 quint. Since Quint 10's response area includes both nearby Naval Air Station Foster Lake as well as the locally popular Foster Lake Reservoir, a geographically isolated area, this vehicle features a 4x4 independent suspension and a front-bumper mounted Rescue A-Frame used in high-angle ropes rescue situations. These features allow Quint 10 and its crew to be ready to respond to any situation, in virtually any terrain. Quint 10 is the first of two planned quints within the CLHFD, with another vehicle, Quint 15 planned for a June 2012 delivery. Quint 10 is the only heavy apparatus within the CLHFD that does not follow the 'Mandatory Fire Apparatus Specifications' exactly. The vehicle still has four-color water tank level indicator lights, an EMS cabinet in the rear of the cab, and a heavy-duty front-bumper. However, due to obvious reasons, the vehicle is not equipped with a High-Rise equipment compartment on the roof.

This vehicle's design was based heavily off of Quints 1 and 3 of the Whistler Fire/Rescue Service in Whistler, British Columbia. Both vehicles are 2010 Spartan Gladiator/Smeal 75' Rear-mount 4x4 quints, which is where most of this design comes from, only with Ferrara-style body work.
