Hey guys, so im not going to write a huge bio for this mech, as i normally do, mainly because this is a contest mech. However, if you guys really like it, I might add it to my EAF Mechs. Anyways, I just finished this mech a few minutes ago. Funny thing, I started building a pair of legs, and then i realized I could build smething other than a dog-legged walker (I honestly dont know how those legs were going to make a dog-legged walker, but you get the point). So i started on a feral Mecha and this little baby popped out. To me, it looks like a vicious gecko/panther type animal, which i thought was pretty cool. I added a poisonous stinger on the end to give it the feel of a true hunter. No guns, not too much armor, just a really deadly melee weapon! Anyways, hope you guys like this! You can download the mode below and take a look at it
About this creation
EDIT (2-1-16): This Moc IS fairly old, but I did a couple renders of it anyways since it's my most popular post! Hope you guys like it! Ill probably be adding renders of new poses as I find them. Cheers!
EDIT: The newer model is up! I know its illegal to change your original entry, but Arik suggested that I include both the original and the newer model in an LDD file so everyone can see the new vs. the old, so that's what I did. If you want to see more of the new Mech, go ahead and download the LDD file (:
Some pictures of the AK-34!!!
This Mech does fit in the Mini-Mech category, there are 15 red bricks stacked in this photo, and the AK-34 is shorter than the stack of bricks. Just wanted to clarify.
The side of the AK-34, a mean looking beast-aint it?
The stinger. Quite a deadly weapon if you ask me. Its "poisonous", (it really has special nanites that, when injected into an enemy mech, quickly eat away at any material, effectively dissolving the enemy.)
The eyes! I personally think for their simplicity, they turned out extremely well.
Claws! This is the panther-ish part of the mech. I thought they added a nice touch.
Better, but not outstanding. The feral style to good though. One thing that's bugging me though is the claws, which seem too thin to hold up the mech. 3.5/5 (that's 4 minus a half, not three plus one.)
Thanks guys! Im really glad you like its better than the previous version. I would have to agree, the first legs were very simplistic and boring, I seem to be falling into a rut with these types of "plate" legs and arms. Regardless, I am glad i was able to save this mech from "simplisticism". haha
Okay, at first, I was going to give you a 4.5 out of 5 because of the joint problems, but with the new revision, I am going to give you a 5/5. The color scheme is AMAZING, I love how you ramped up the shoulders (and I noticed the binocular/weapon thingies, very cool), and really, the tail is just epically amazing. BTW, this does not break any rules or guidelines. In fact, I sort of expected some very non-conformist mecha in this contest.
perhaps you could include both the original and the revised version in the LDD file? that way we could see the revisions, but would still have the original in case it's deemed illegal in the contest. I'm thinking about doing the same thing with my Berserk.
I appreciate the reviews guys. I now understand that the legs were lacking a whole lot. I have re-done the mech and it looks much better now with more detail in the head and the legs are quite movable now. I saw what happened when Arik tried to upload his redone Beserker, so im not going to add anything new unless you guys want to see the revisions and think its ok for me to re-do it. Anyways, thanks for the reviews (: i appreciate every word all of you said. And btw, thanks for helping me out Rabid (: haha
2.5/5, simply because the head is slightly simplistic and a bit flat for my tastes, and because the joints on the legs look a bit stiff. Still, it gives me a very "Ravager" (Transformers 2) feel, which is always a plus. :P
unfortunately I don't think I did a good job of being clear. sorry about that. unfortunately it seems each one of us has a different opinion on what the design needs. I'd say the main thing it needs is some improved legs. maybe try some of the techniques you used for the legs on your other Mechs? I just feel that some plates attached together like that is too... oh I can't think of a word for it. anyway, that's my opinion. the rest of the Mech is nothing short of incredible.
3/5 is what I'll give you but don't get me wrong, I really dig this guy, it has a very original look and the idea itself was very nice, however the weak design of the limbs and the somewhat unfinished looking tip of the tail(at least for me, it looks a bit plain) gives off a strange feeling like it's just half complete. The spine part is just awesome and the head looks impressive as well.
In Maverick's defense, I don't recall there being a rule saying humanoid mecha, nor was I aware of a size parameter other than the 15 bricks tall, which he has completely fulfilled. That beings said, I rather much like it. The feet could use some redesign, but given that this one looks like it's supposed to be fast, I think that the slender body suits it. Head and tail are definitely strong points, and should you redesign this, then I advise keeping them. Nicely done. ^Blub^
reminds me of something out of Monsters Inc.
Ok the review. presentation wise it's ok, scale reference, nice description you see it from a few angles and a couple of poses.
articulation is limited, but the spine makes up for this. The head design is fairly cool and I like the colour choices.
weapons are in keeping with the style of the mech, if under developed.
original idea, but maybe just missing something. 3/5.

I'm going to surprise you here but . . . 4/5! It would have been 5/5, were it not for the rather simplistic body design (loving the legs and head mind!).
Thanks Jak! I'm glad you like the legs (: i know they are extremely simplistic but i like them nonetheless. I did re-do them however, and i personally think you will like the new legs quite a bit more. But thank you for the 4/5 :D
Ok, did a massive revamp. Legs are pretty articulate now and thinner, so to speak and the head and spine are more detailed. I still stuck with the original head shape though. Im wondering, can i post new pictures and LDD file or do I need to leave it as is?
Well, sorry to disappoint guys. I tried to make it as feral as possible, but I didn't know that we were supposed to make a humanoid mech. For me at least, its hard to put together a good looking feral mech that is articulated well. I thought that looks would make up for it. Anyways, hope ill do better next time. Thanks for the criticism though :D
This thing is Beast! Pun intended. Due to inferior leg and foot articulation, lacking head detail, and the fact that Mini-mechs tend to be Humanoid, rather than Feral, i am forced to give it only a 3/5, however. Nice build regardless.
