MOC Speed Contest Round 2: Isla De Muerta
My Category for this round of the contest is Set Redesign: Redesign a LEGO set to make it more accurate or cooler. Preferrably a mid-ranged set, e.g. between $20-$50, but it can be any set.
About this creation
I chose to do set 4181, Isla De Muerta, from the POTC line.
My MOC doesn't have everything going on in it that's in the set, just the duel between Barbosa and Jack Sparrow.
Captain, Jack Sparrow that is.
Specifically this is when Jack becomes Skelotized.

Well, I hope this is what the judges are looking for in this category.
I probably could have spent more time on this, but it is a speed contest after all.

In other news, the Lego collection is in complete disarray at the moment, making building less than enjoyable. Expect some MOCs better than my latest scraps when I get things all tidied up.
Maybe some more Guilds of Historica stuff?
The long awaited next Dalriada episode?
We shall see...

Quoting Mr. Xenomurphy Oh, and your little Oswald is still wearing his Santa Claus cap ;o)
Hehe, guess I should fix that.

Thanks guys! This build is completely 'Meh' to me, so maybe I'll come back to it later with some more time on my hands, and try out some epic lighting and stuff.
Quoting Chris Stone BTW have you started on your MOCMurder entry yet?
I have few ideas I'm mucking about with, but yeah, I've started it.

I agree with what Luke says about the colour: the rocks should not be bley. it needs more minifigs. apart from that, it's great!

Nice! The build's excellent, but the rocks are oddly coloured. Are they dark bley or some blueish colour? While I have no problem with that aspect, mixing it with old grey is a bit off-putting. I realize the effect you were going for, but in this scale it didn't really work. Still, over-all great work!

I think a bit of focused lightning from above and lots of darkness/shadows around would have been wonderful here. You might want to give it a try next time (when it's appropriate). Oh, and your little Oswald is still wearing his Santa Claus cap ;o)

OK.... It looks so much better than the LEGO version, but the scene just seems a little empty. I am awarding you 14 + 4 = 17 points. Thank you.

This isn't as good as your first entry but its still great and i love the placement of the gladiators helmet!

Sweet! Do the whole thing! You should make a roof or something for it so there is context for Jack as a skeleton. Awesome work!

Nice build, but it seems to be a replacement for the current set rather than an upgrade or improvement. Still great, though! 16 points + 4 bonus points = 20 points overall

Awesome you should do one without speed and capture everything

Hmm... Your coloring choice sort of made the rocks looks odd. But it's still 'Good' (Three lego heads.) Anyways, just some constructive critisism. :)
