About this creation
I was looking at the flame pieces from the new Batwing and Batmobile sets the other day thinking how cool they looked and how I should find a good use for them. I also started rereading The Hobbit over the weekend and when I got to the Trolls illustration in chapter 2, I realized how I wanted to use those cool flame pieces.

Having just recently gotten back into Lego, I missed out on all of the orc, troll, and dwarf figures that came out a few years back. So my trolls (William, Bert, and Tom) have been pieced together with some werewolf heads, some cannibal bodies, a Davy Jones head, and various peasant hats. I'd hoped they'd make more convincing trolls.

I think that I'll revisit and rebuild this scene after the LOTR Lego sets come out in June. I'm sure there will be some cool orc minifigs which will be more suitable as trolls than these three. If anyone has any suggestions of other minifig parts which would make good troll pieces, I'd love to hear from them.
