A whistle stop tour of the Grey Man's LOTR creations, pre-crash...
About this creation
Oh, the MOCpages server crash was a sad day for some of us. All my LOTR creations vanished in the blink of an eye, never to be seen again...
Well, I've had a bit of a LOTR revival (read the book, watched the films, played Risk a lot) so I thought I'd better revive some of these. Rather than repost every single one, I've combined them into...
A CELEBRATION OF THE LORD OF THE RINGS

First LOTR moc I ever uploaded (also the most popular, thanks to you guys). The Argonath!
"Upon great pedestals founded in deep waters stood two great kings of stone - the left hand of each was raised palm outward, in a gesture of warning."

Next, on a different scale entirely, the Mirror of Galadriel, or, as I like to subtitle it, an experiment in falling water...
"Upon a low pedestal carved like a branching tree stood a basin of silver, wide and shallow, and beside it stood a silver ewer."

"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty wet hole filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry sandy hole, with nothing in it to sit down on, or to eat. It was a hobbit hole, and that meant comfort."

Weathertop - my (pretty poor) entry for the lotr trilogy contests round 1. Looking back on it, it doesn't seem such a great idea...

"It seems to my eyes to be thatched with gold." - Legolas
The Golden Hall of Meduseld, much more popular than it has any right to be, but still one of which I am rather proud.

Balin's Tomb... a pretty lazy effort, I have to admit. Could have done better. Quite pleased with the troll though.

Last but not least, and my personal favourite, LOTR trilogy contest entry round 2... the Crossroads.
"Look, Sam... the King has got a crown again!"

Thanks for the support over the year guys, it's been a pleasure. There are many more LOTR mocs to come, and I join you all in looking forward to the Hobbit...

If you ask me, I don't think Theoden looks old enough. Maybe that is just because I was influenced by the movie. But incredibly well built.

Some of these are really great, I love your version of Meduseld, and the shaping of your troll and the kings is impressive. Well done! |

The Hall of Meduseld is awesome, especially the roof. The statues are fantastic and that troll is absolutly beautiful ( can a troll be beautiful? Only in lego.) |

These are very cool! I don't remember seeing them before, so they are all new to me! I really like the chanelier in Theoden's hall. |
