About this creation
This is my version of 9395, which is a 2012 new technic tow truck set. Yes, I modify just about every set that I get. I got this truck for Christmas, but it needed a few adjustments.
On this side you can see some pneumatic hoses, they are for the welding torch, and go to some bottles mounted behind the welder (Battery Box) and between the toolboxes (IR Receivers).
This is the inside working of the truck. I added all of these things, and also the dual wheels on the back. Whats a truck without duals?
It has one M motor for the drive, another for the winch, and another for the steering. I am thinking about getting a XL motor for the drive.
Here is the welder, and all the other things you need for welding. Blow torch, toolboxes to hold welding rods, slag hammers, torch tips, clamps, extension cords, ect.
It also has 2 trailer balls, one for normal trailers, and a 5th wheel ball.
IR Receiver, disguised as a toolbox.
This is a flatbed tilt deck car hauling trailer I build for this truck. It has a spare wheel, and air spring to tilt the deck up.
This is another trailer I build for the truck to utilize the 5th wheel hitch. A horse trailer. complete with lights.

My son and I have this model and we were really inspired by your creation. We are about to Mod ours with an XL motor under the hood, and then since you showed us the 5th wheel we are going to try that as well.
And the winch is just icing on the cake.

Dude, love how you made the motor the engine, and it's quite well detailed of a mod of a set. I do wonder though, for hitch trailers with covers, I would have thought the back door opened to doubled as a ramp, or roll up in panels like what you see in a U-Haul.... |

Very nice mods to the truck, and also the trailers you added are great! Very good techical bits and functionality. If you have room for it, I would recommend the XL motor. It's slower, but much torque-ier than the M motors. You really made the most out of this set!
Hey everybody, thanks for commenting. I am considering getting a couple XL motors, my friend has some, and they make a huge difference. I think I will use them on my dump truck I plan to make. Oh and to all you who say I'm a quick builder, thanks, I had the week off, and spent a good 20 or so hours on this. It didn't last 24hrs before I modified it.

Really nice! Though, I should add, even though it isn't big problem, I would try to get rid of those discolored dark grey plates that are on your tralier. They just look odd. But otherwise, it looks great! 4/5 |
