I have been wanting to make something like this for ages now and since watching a few episodes of the Armada series (and closely studying the work of Chris Roach, http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/23530 ) I have finally achieved better than what I had hoped. Please leave comments, suggestions and advice, thanks.
About this creation
A main veiw of the vehicle form. This took me atleast 2 full days to make.
The underneath of the transformer. This is based on the smaller toy version of Optimus Prime without a trailer or Leader 1.
The front of the truck. I tried to make it look as beefy and manly as I could.
The trailer. With the trailer I tried to give it the same look and feel of the toy trailer.
Now the Transformed Mode
The front.
Side.
Back.
I kept the hands seperate like with the G1 Optimus Prime because it was to hard to disguse them in vehicle mode.
The hands.
Now the Trailer
The trailer is not like the one from G1 as it transforms into an 'attachment' for Optimus to increase his power.
The trailer can be opened for easy access to weapons.
And splits open into a mini-con battle station.
Optimus Prime's weapons can be added to the battle station to give the Mini-cons something to fight with
Now Powerlink mode
As the trailer is flexed more it become the bottom half for Optimus Prime and is ready to powerlink.
Optimus's legs split open and another head is pushed out.
The legs are then taken off and rotated so they can become arms.
The hands are reused in powerlink mode.
The connect to fully make Optimus Prime in powerlink mode. There are two spots on the arms of Optimus Prime Powerlink mode where Mini-cons can be connected. Front.
Back.
Leader 1, Mini-con
Leader 1 Optimus's main Mini-con (design comes from ismael2rock's jolt design, Thanks!)
Tranformed
Leader 1 can sit on the back part of Optimus Prime.

Erm, if you think that I came up with the example, then please allow me to correct that image. I did NOT make those arms, I just thought it was a good example.
Oh, sorry then : |

You could improve the transformation by shortening the arms so the hands could become headlights and making his feet transform into hands for the super-mode. Here is an example:

Overall, a great build!
Thank you! this is exactly what I was looking for, really smart how you hid the hands. I guess they'll be an update in a month or two :D
thanks |
