AEGAKS 672 - BOr "SwiftFire" II
SwiftFire is back!
About this creation

Its back . . .

*queue epic music*
:P

Joking aside, its finally here! I have completed the SwiftFire - again! And he is, if I do say so myself, better than ever! He even has a proper name now! XD
Before we get onto the model itself, some credits:
Rabid Goldifsh - creator of the AEGAKS series,
and CEO Luiz Cambargo, for his AEGAKS 907 - SWh "Ronin", from which this model draws so much insperation.

On with the show!

The chest. It has become much more horizontal, so as to try and combat a severe case of bad-weight-distrobution. And look! He has a head! :D Big ear-muffs too it seems.

The back. The thrusters are now actually thrusters (the top ones at least) (they're not actually thrusters, more jump-jets, but whatever, same difference)! Very happy with how it turned out. And as you can see, in true JTM style, the back of the legs has been heavily neglected. XD

Legs. The legs themselves are pretty epic, if I do say so myself, but teh feet . . . ugh, don't get me started on the feet. I wanted to keep them pretty much the same, but ended up having to create a shoddy-lloking black extention to combat weight distrobution and a problem I will mention in the afterword.

Pilot Block ejected. I kept teh extra side armour which pops off, since it is so plain useful for keeping teh weight down.

Chest with Pilot Block ejected.

Sword! He has a weapon! yes, I know it is only a melee one, but hey, ball joints aren't the best at holding something up (I would have used clip ones, but they had all come AWOL on me :/).

The sword on its own. Bask in its glory!

Afterword:
Well, I am very happy with this. It fulfils all my goals, and that fulfils me. However, I encountered a horrible problem. The ball joints in the legs are somewhat "loose", as if the clips inside have been blunted. This means it is a right old pain to stand up (its also why it has those horrible foot extentions). Anyways, it can now stand on its own, and I am happy.

Hope you like, please rate and comment! Feedback is much apreciated!

It's really cool looking. (Btw..those aren't ball joints...those are click joints..hence why the "click" when you ratchet them to make them move. ball joints are the ball and socket joints) Anyways, I like the extra-armored pilot block, and the sword design.

Quoting ED Eroomdivad The feet are reasonable, when I look at the first pic the rest of the mech is so impressive that the feet seem insignificant. As for your weight problem, have you tried adding a stop? It would limit posability but keep it standing.
Its a fair point, but now I don't really want to touch it too much. XD Luckily it seems to have become stable anyway now. And thanks!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! @ arik: I would have made the feet thicker, but by this time I had started to run out of blocky parts. And as for teh head, its pretty simple, I may build it in LDD for ya. @ RGF: Nope, as long as you have a platform at the same height as the pilot block, the pilot can get out and in as they please.

Wow! Great mech! I could never have the patience and skill to build something that great! Keep it up! :D

That is an amazing build. Definiely much improved. The angles of the orange plating is very impressive. I have to say that the only thing that could be improved is that the legs look a little spindly compared to the rest of the body. Otherwise, amazingly built. Does the Pilot Block have to be removed for the pilot to board and egress? ^Blub^

awesome, Jak! I absolutely love that sword. I might just have to make one in LDD or something... :P the feet do look a bit odd. is there any way you can add some vertical thickness to them? they look kinda flat. otherwise, this is amazing. by the way, can you perhaps add another pic or two showing a bit more of the head?

Quoting CEO Luiz Camargo Well done Jak! The improvements are really nice. I can clearly see the Ronin inspiration in the pilot block "socket" and hands but with a great personal touch. The overall shape of the armor is amazing, the orange is a beautiful color and the way you used the slopes in the upper arms and shoulders are very inspiring. The wings in the back are cool and all, but the massive white pieces give it a "busy" look. About the sword, I like the design and I understand the weight problems that you had but a longer sword or a pair of short ones would be better. I'm very happy that you listened me and RGF about the crotch armor, It's a way better now. And don't worry about the feet, they are just great as they are now; if they remained small like it was in the first model, It would look weird. The only advice is to use another color than black as you don't use black in any other place. This can be corrected if you incorporate the black element in other areas of the mech. But it's an amazing AEGAKS that truly inspire me. Thank you!
