Aero Tube Hangar Docking Bay
Return of the Martians.
About this creation
I made this creation so if would be attachable to set 7317 Aero Tube Hangar;

Support this creation and it might be an official set one day

This LEGOŽ theme brought us the pipe transport system, in which the martians, on hypersleds, get to their vehicles.
I took it to the next level by getting the martians directly into their ships.

First of all, the docking bay, as you can see the tube is connected with a flexible arm to allow it to extend or withdraw. This is needed to give the spaceship room for taking of/landing.
(The two ribbed hoses are there to prevent the pipe from swinging about).

For the complete mechanism we need a spaceship ofcourse.
I made this small purple ship which can hold a maximum of 3 Martians of which one is situated in a hypersled in the rear.

Bring the ship near the tube (with its rear). I equiped the ship with an adjustable landing gear to keep it polyvalent.

Open the ship's SledPort

Extend the Pipe and voila, spaceship docked and ready to welcome a hypersled.

Martian on hypersled.

Incase you're not familiar with the pipe transport system; with this pump you can blow or suck the hypersled throughout the pipe.

I hope you like it, I made this months ago but I somehow forget to post it.
I will demolish the landing platform, I need the dark gray parts for my Flying Dutchman.
See ya ;)

Very cool! There is a definite shortage of Life on Mars on MOCpages....of course that could have something to do with it being discontinued and new AFOL's like me have no Life on Mars sets!(Wish that dark age ended sooner....)

Nice to see Life on Mars has a good looking comeback, even if it's just one moc. It's sad though there isn't more, if any, Life on Mars's mech style. I love how they can mix sections with one another. Any thoughts about that?

Wow, Sebeus! This is an ingenious idea! I love all the SNOT used in this. I always wanted to get those tube things. I also like that watch tower a lot. It really mixes with the theme well. It's nice to see your back from your mini "dark age." By the way, be expecting a ship from me sometime in the near future :)

That's a cool design, but it's HUGELY inconvienient. Too inconvienient if you ask me, anyway. Actually, now that I think of it, it reminds me of Thunderbirds and how they get to the different vehicles, TB2 particularly.
