Helm's Deep, a build in the MocPages LOTR display at Brickworld 2011.
About this creation
Dave Sterling uploading his Minas Morgul that was created for Brickworld 2011 finally convinced me to upload my part, Helm's Deep. This way, he's not the last and I can finally get this on the pages. I have barely any pictures of this myself, so I hope my com padres don't mind me stealing pictures from their Brickworld posts. Anyway, here goes

Helm's Deep from the front. Thanks to Lee Jones for all of the men (and orcs) populating this battle. This picture was stolen from Heath Flor. Thanks buddy!

The Causeway. Stolen from Leda Kat, who takes some of the best pictures I have seen. She could make a pile of dog poop look good in a picture. That should be taken as a compliment. And thanks for the picture!

The keep itself, with Theoden King. Stolen from el Phippy. The keep was a lot of fun to build. Had I more forethought, I would have liked to add caves underneath, but time was not my friend.

Uruk-hai breaching the gap. Dennis Price gave me the idea of making the wall section lift out so it whole one day and broken the next, but that never happened. Sorry dennis. Picture stolen from Leda again.

And last, but never least, John Jameson in Helm's Deep. Taken from the honorable Kevin Walter.
This project was tons of fun to work on and i am so glad to have been among the many builders. For more details on the project, go to this, Chris Phipson's post. I'm sure you've all seen it, but you can always go back. Also, it is almost exactly six months from the time when Brickworld ended. Which seems like a super long time. Well, that just means six months till next time. :) Thanks for looking, all.

Hopefully next year you'll have something cool to show as well. It's always great to put faces with names!

Gah, I thought I had already commented on this. Guess not. Epic build Tyler. Wish I'd been there last year. I thought your Brickworld display this year was really good too. It was nice to meet you as well. Perhaps I'll see you again next year. Cheers! |

Great to see this pics again! If you have one, I'd like to see a close up of the Dwarf Tossing scene over on the right. Awesome!

Seeing individual posts of all of these allows me the pleasure of appreciating the detail and skill of each build once again. Nice work! |

This was excellent Tyler, I loved all the details like the broken wall, the curved steps, the gorgeous rockwork and when it became populated with orcs and men (and elves) it just went zing! and really stood out as one of the masterful builds from the layout. Well done and I can't wait to see your contribution to next year's collab. Take lots of photos of it though, because I wont be there to do it! |

And posted in such a timely manner... (snicker). You really did a great job on this Tyler. The thing that impressed me most was that you came in to the project so late and were still able to do an excellent job with it (and with the Hobbiton and chase scene builds)! Thanks for being a part of this awesome project! It truly wouldn't have worked without your additions! See ya in 6 months and can't wait to see your part in our next collab! ~Chris.
I was so glad to be included and had a great time doing it all. 6 months will hopefully go fast. |

Looks great Tyler! I loved the entire collaboration that you all put together. Wish I could have been there to see it in person. So....with the LOTR sets coming out this June, can we expect an updated Middle-Earth this year? Or do you all have a new collaboration idea....maybe Narnia? |
