Cityscape
Here is my long awaited entry for the "Out of your Comfort Zone" contest. I was given the theme: City/Cityscape. And I admit it was rather tricky. This creation is the result of around 30hrs of planning and building. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out and I hope you enjoy it too (especially you judges).
About this creation
Here is the link to the contest's homepage.

Ground level: Intersection (with cross walks) and a building.

Traffic light.

Who is that handsome chap?!

Behind the glass: Oh dear! It looks like the jewelry store is being robbed!

A police office, unaware of what is occurring twenty feet away.

Construction! And what's he doing with that saw?

The clown: It looks like Jr. here is learning the trade (juggling).

Underground: Sewer and subway platform.

Life wasn't always this way: This poor homeless fellow was a Clown (street performer) once too. From the looks of things up top, he's going to have company soon.

The sewer pipe.

Waiting for the subway?

Above: A rather artistic shot of the subway rail.
Below: The build minus the figs.

Below:
The Smart car: This is based off of the original Lego City version, but I added a bunch of modifications (rear view mirrors, break lights, etc.).

The Mini-figs:

The purple and yellow studs are suppose to be two-toned juggling balls for the clown.

Random civilians.

The homeless guy: Probably my favorite mini-fig to design in this build.

Quoting Quad ????? Hey Ian, I know it's pretty early but I was wondering if you know who you want on your MOCathon team. If you're interested I would be honored to be on your team in the MOCathon. I only ask so soon becuase I don't want to go into the MOCathon when all the good builders are all already taken. Anyway, think about it. ~Quad
I don't think that will work, sorry. First off, I was planning a team with some of my "real-life" friends and if that doesn't go over, someone else has already asked me to join their team. So you see the odds are pretty slim, but not completely impossible. I really can't make any promises at the moment. Thanks for thinking of me though.

Quoting The Fisherman Hm, why didn't I comment on this one? Excellent clean and detailled build. My favorite part would be the subway station. Though it is missing a little decoration. (I decided to add a little criticism to every comment to point out possible improvements, if I find any. No need to be alarmed)
Thanks very much sir! No worries, I'm not alarmed. I too believe that there is always room for improvement. Plus, I'd be a total hypocrite if I couldn't' take some criticism (read my homepage). Thanks again for commenting!

Ok so this is my last judgement for first round in ,,Out of your comfort zone,, contest. Christian was right when he told ,,we´ve saved best for last,,. So lets get to points: Photography: 5/5, there are no blurry photos, lus good choice of background. Theme Representation: this represents theme ,,City,, really good 5/5. Overall Build: 9/10 I would welcome more from subway platform, just to make it bigger and also with train arriving. But that´s just one point down. 19/20 Probably best rating I give in first round.

Quoting Quad ????? Woah... I was waiting to look at this until I actually judged and I am amazed! This must be your largest MOC now? Anyway, on to the judging. Photography: 5/5. Each pic seems to be perfectly in focus. Theme Representation: 5/5. This would be an awesome City-Themed set for Lego to do. Overall Build:....10/10! The only perfect score I've given. I can't find one thing wrong with this. (Well I suppose there's the traffic lights but I can't deduct one whole point just for That.) Overall Score: 20/20! I think this was Definately worth the wait and to try and speed it up would have made it inferior. I would wish you luck but I doubt you'll need it. :)
A perfect score!?!? Thanks a million! I'm pretty sure I've never gotten a perfect score in a contest before (maybe once). I'd have to agree with you about the traffic light too. I wasn't completely satisfied with it either--I would have liked to make it seem like one of the lights was glowing some how--but I had to get on to building the lower level. Thanks again!

Quoting Sir Balamorgineas Impressive detailing. Even though the base was only 20x20, the different angles and levels created more opportunities to go crazy with extra, eyecatching details, which you did magnificently. Make the Tusk group proud!

WOW! This is better than I imagined it to be from what you told me. The snotted street has so much detail, as well as the buildings. I'm glad you did end up doing the subway and sewer. Whats amazing about you is, I'd never guess that you were short on parts. P.S. You so should have built on the robbery. Quoting Christopher Baldacci Your best creation ever - period. WAY TO GO IAN!! You just keep getting better and better with your buildings skills, and you continue to wow me with everthing you construct. Some of your best figs you have ever built - and the sewer bum is absolutely brilliant. Great use of the Hadras legs and the Ostrich Race guy torso. By the way, where did you get the sewer pipe piece that the sewer water is flowing out of?
The sewer pipe piece--I believe--is from an Exo-Force set. It is one of the bricks that the big robot's arm's clamped into.
