About this creation
Well, this rescue is moving along nicely to plan…
The fearsome Flesh Worm lies in a pool of lava, waiting to be fed its next victim. Legend has it that if the creatures consume enough human flesh, it will grow to a monstrous size and be subject to the will of its feeder, thus giving its handler a devastating weapon of power.
Zurok the Wizard is a rather unpleasant fellow who spends his days feeding maidens to large worms, practicing magic spells, and planning the takeover of the Kingdom located above him. Unfortunately, things are going a bit awry, and he isn’t taking it well (“You worthless fiends! Stop those meddling fools! They shall not disrupt the final sacrifice!”)
The brave (and rather flashy) Sir Debonair battles Zurok’s evil Bone Warriors. A hot-headed knight, Sir Debonair accepted the assignment to fight Zurok’s forces because no other knight was as brave (or foolish) enough to attempt it. With his trusty sword at hand, he is ready for a rough-and-tough-skirmish (“Now THIS is a good day! Bone warriors to kill, a demented worm to destroy, a dark wizard to give a good drubbing to, and a ravishing beauty of a maiden to impress! Cheeeaaarge!”)
“When the going gets tough, the fools go nuts!” Such is the motto of Pogo the Jester, faithful travelling companion to Sir Debonair. With Chimp the Chimp at his side, Pogo has been given the unenviable job of rescuing the maiden before she falls into the worm’s vicious mouth. However, what many would consider a suicide task, Pogo considers heaps of fun. After all, he gets to rescue the girl and be the center of attention; what more can a jester ask for? (“Wheeeehee! Not to fear, screaming lady! Pogo and Chimp have the situation well under control!”) The fair maiden, for her part, shrieks, whilst shouting, “Eeeek! Get off me you, stupid freak! I’d prefer being fed to that horrid beast then being rescued by you and your stupid ape!”
A Bone warrior rushes into the chamber from a side tunnel, quite surprised at the scene unfolding before him.
A brutish Were-pig, Ug is Zurok’s jailer/worm-feeder; he is rather surly and doesn’t enjoy his job one bit, so it is actually a relief for him when Sir Debonair and his fellow rescuers burst on the scene. As he makes a run for the exit, he shouts, “Arg ookha groar!”, which, when translated, means, “Sorry, Zurok! I’m a Were-pig Jailer Union card holder, and nowhere in my contract does it say I have to fight dashing knights, insane jesters, or chimps! So, I bid thee farewell!”
A barrel of mutton. Meat is occasionally thrown into the pit to keep the worm lustful for flesh.
Above ground, everything is peaceful and quiet.
Bob the Mucker, on his way back from delivering a “load”. He thinks to himself, “I hate my life. Fill up the cart, pay the road tax, pass the haunted well, drop off the load, muck it, turn back towards the Muck Depot, do it all over again. I wish something interesting would happen around me before I die.” Poor chap doesn’t know how much he’s missing…all of it beneath his feet.
The “haunted” well. After strange noises were heard coming from the well (and nothing but lava was found in it), the peasants decided to abandon it. It appears Sir Debonair and his entourage have discovered that it is a secret entrance to Zurok’s domain. A tree provides a good anchor for the troupe’s scaling chains. Note Sir Debonair’s helmet and shield; he’s left them behind, as they would hide his handsome features from the fair maiden.

Background info:
When I got this theme for my category, I was extremely worried: I’ve never made any sort of Castle creation before, my grey/bley parts are limited, and I have the landscaping skills of a dead trout. Still, I figured I’d give it my best shot and at least try to pose a moderate challenge to my skilled opponents. I chipped away at this build whenever I could, which wasn’t much due to work; I also lost the tips to all my finger nails after a particularly brutal day of breaking down boxes, making LEGO building rather painful. Nevertheless, I had tons of fun making this creation; like I said, I’ve never made any Castle MOCs before, so it was an interesting challenge. Hopefully, it’ll be enough to squeak me past the first round :) I wish all the best to my opponents and may the best MOC win!

So my judgement. Photography: 5/5, I don´t see anything bad. Theme representation: 4/5. Overall Build: 9/10. It was very well made but maybe something more it would make even better. Together it is 18/20. Very good, very good. |

Judging Time.
Photography: 5/5. No fuzzy pictures and a nice white background.
Theme Representation: 3/5. This would have been a five if the theme was medieval, but since it was castle I couldn't quite see this fitting too well in the catagory.
Overall build: 8/10. I love the rock detail in it and the flesh worm is great. But I think the ground on the top is maybe too busy.

Great and creative take on the category! I like how you made due with what pieces you had, and th were-pig gave me a laugh! I really like the worm design, and the upper level looks very medieval. Great work, and good luck in the contest! |
