I return from my eleven month hiatus, the worse for my travels. More on that later. To the matter at hand: I have had enough of this thing sitting and collecting dust! EDIT: Main photo fixed!
About this creation
NOTE: All commentary is located under the image in question.

The M21 "Badger" LRV. I know the title says it all, but I wanted to say it again.

No-turret shot (durr). I was going to photograph the turret separately, but I forgot. I will post it on its own later.

The Badger is a tough, dependable little vehicle. While it is often used purely for reconnaissance, it has been used in a number of larger conflicts as a heavy support vehicle.

The interior is lined with protective armor to maximize occupant safety and comfort. Unfortunately, leather was a bit too expensive, so the seat is merely cushioned. This unique angle shows off the steering wheel and the navigation and targeting systems for the side-mounted machine gun.

That gauge monitors one of two things: ammunition used/remaining or the barrel heat. Be creative. Use your imagination.
The passenger used to stand up and fire (like the passenger in the Halo Warthog), but gross inaccuracy and a high casualty rate (not to mention the clean-up of the interior) prompted this safer and more effective mode of side fire.

Back of turret shot. You can see the targeter-doohicky there.

Pretty side shot. Nothing special.

Front view, good shot of the headlights. If I had any talent with special effects, I would have done something right pretty there.
But I don't. So I haven't.
Deal with it.
If you look closely, you might see where I got a hint for the front design. I told him I would give credit if I used it, so I will remain true to my word. Areetsa C , here's to you!

I was sorting through a stack of LEGO when I stumbled across this piece. I set it aside, not sure what to do with it. Turns out it serves a useful purpose after all!

The whole family, as it currently stands! Here's a list:
Nine (9) Standard Infantry
Three (3) Standard Hardsuits
One (1) Jump-Jet Hardsuit
One (1) Heavy Assault Hardsuit
One (1) Explorer Hardsuit
One (1) Ghillie Sniper
One (1) M21 "Badger" LRV
One (1) Battle Standard
I will try to get new pics up for the Hardsuits, as they have changed a bit since I added them. Also, I recently finished my MBT for this faction, so that should be posted soon-ish. And I have a fighter (of sorts) to post. Keep your eyes peeled!
Ceiling Commentary:
When I first built the Badger, I had no idea where it would go, or how it would turn out. It started out about half the overall mass of the final version and with a much smaller and weaker turret. In fact, the first turret was controlled by the passenger. Needless to say, this model has made me especially happy with the overall design, so I don't foresee any major changes anytime soon (except maybe for a suspension system). Also, before I forget, I got the tire design from Brian Kescenovitz .
On other issues, my hiatus over the last 11 months was not due to a lack of building, but rather to a series of adventures. Spring Semester 2011, started working a part-time job, two siblings getting married (one on June 3rd, the other on June 4th), more work, even more work, a little bit of BrickFair (hopefully I will get to be an attendee in 2012!) grandparents 60th wedding anniversary, Fall Semester 2011, and a puppy for my birthday. Life is like a kick in the head: unwanted, but sometimes necessary.
If you have come this far, please Comment!
