About this creation
The American LaFrance Eagle, with its gently rounded front end, has a distinctly American LaFrance look that goes back to the revolutionary 700 Series. The Eagle is a premium custom model. It was introduced in 1996 and has been the flagship of the American LaFrance product line since then.
The Eagle model has received various upgrades over the years. American LaFrance also offers the Metropolitan, a mid-price custom chassis, and the Freightliner Business Class, a commercial chassis. These chassis are used for a full line of fire apparatus.
The American LaFrance Fire Engine Company Ltd was founded in January 1904. Over the past 107 years the name of the company has changed many times. American LaFrance is one of the oldest names in the fire apparatus industry. Originally, American LaFrance was based in Elmira, New York. The company now operates out of Summerville, South Carolina. Although no longer a dominant force in fire apparatus manufacturing American LaFrance has built more fire apparatus than any other company in the world. BFD552@gmail.com
