The Edge AD-JRL! Credit to Fortenoir for the feet and joint design. And big thanks to my brother for the legs.
About this creation
The Edge is a mech built for speed. With 85 thrusters, speed might as well be it's middle name. It has top speeds of 200 mph, and can sustain that speed for 1 hour before running out of fuel to burn.

The Edge has several weapons loadouts. The primary loadout is the Long Rifle/Shield Loadout, which includes the NEX-LR181 as it's weapon. The Shield is made of a highly advanced super durable metal called Duranium.

One other loadout is called the Gladiator Loadout. It consists of 1 large sword and the shield already mentioned. For close combat.

The last loadout is the Ninja Loadout, so called for the thin blades used in this loadout. For ambushes and quick strikes, NOT for prolonged combat.

Just a cool action shot of the Ninja Loadout.

A backview of the Edge AD-JRL.
And now, for a little bonus.
EXTRA COLOR SCHEMES YAY!!!

The SeaMonster: so called cause the color scheme reminds me of one.

The Marine: it does look like on with this color scheme, don't it?

The Royal Mariner: I kinda like this color scheme.

The Desert Unit: I just LOVE desert themed color schemes and couldn't resist making one for the Edge!

The Eyesore: no, seriously, this hurts my eyes.

The Royal Blood: a nice color scheme. Silver on Gold always looks good.

The Maelstrom: a tribute to Lego's LU game.

The Brownish: yes, I couldn't think of a better name for this one. But it works.

The MMWI Official Color Scheme: Orange on black is MMWI's official color scheme.

The Invert: an inverted color scheme of the MMWI colors.

The Vines: a cool jungle color scheme.

The Hot Pink: sorry, couldn't resist putting this one in.

The Red 'n Silver: Name explains itself.

The Silver: just a nice looking silver color scheme.

And the last one, the Red and Yellow.
I hope you enjoyed this mech from MMWI. I know I did.
The LDD file is attached so you can look at it in more detail or just play around with it.
Again, credit to Fortenoir for the joints and the feet.
And thanks to my bro, who had the idea for the legs.

Alright, let's do this, so I can officially go on my desired Vacation. Alright, so while looking over this, I noticed that while you improved on thruster layout since the previous layout of the Raptor, I could help but notice that some of the thruster arrays are blocked by either the frame or other portions of the thrusters. For instance the thrusters of the ankle region, the inside arrays are very limited in terms of movement unless the mech moves it legs far apart. While I like style of the MOC, I feel that the sheer amount of thrusters kinda cramps certain regions. As for the weapons, I like the multiple weapon loadouts, but I feel that this unit would, when looking at the thrusters array, be best suited as hit and run unit, charging in as fast as possible in a single direction, attacking without stopping, and leaving quickly. So, CQC style weapons use would be limited, assuming the unit is attacking a base or a squad of units. Though, that doesn't mean that cannot be used by the unit in dire situations. I really feel that you could design a weapons loadout with more explosive weaponry, with a back up CQC weapon, and it would fit the unit greatly. For the color schemes, I really like how you included color variants, as I do that myself, but I cannot help but feel that some of your names lack creativity. I really feel that giving each scheme a distinctive name, it gives the scheme a personality. So, I suggest trying to come up with some names for your schemes, cause something like "Red and Yellow", leaves me wanting a little more. Overall, I like the overall style of the MOC, though I feel the amount of thrusters is a bit much. The weapons are nice, though I feel that the unit could be equipped with weapons better suiting it's thruster arrays. The color schemes are nice, but the lack of actual names doesn't do them justice. Nice work on this, and try to work more with your bro, you two may come up with some neat ideas together, and it's family time. |
