An excellent blend of genres. I'm sorry that we don't get to hear the story behind this MOC, but I totally understand the slump that comes near the end of a project if it drags on too long. Wow. This is absolutely amazing. There are so many successes in this work I don't even know where to start. First off, I love the "flying saucer crashing into a medieval world" concept. And the mud washing over the saucer is a well-executed effect, as is the waterfall. The tower is awesome, but it's the stairway that steals it for me. Great work! |

Wow, looks amazing Thoy, really lovely work! The crashed alien is fantastic, with the dirt heaped up over the front of the saucer and the huge skid mark behind it. The river and the foliage on the banks is a masterpiece of tranquility and the tower draws your eye very naturally to the ridge. However, there were a few things that puzzled me about the scene: how come no-one seems that concerned about a alien craft crash landing just metres from them?? :o And initially i thought that the blackened area was part of the crash site, so it confused me to see the skid mark coming from the opposite direction. In fact, if i have one criticism about the moc, it's that my eyes have trouble making sense of that blackened area - compositionally it feels like dead space in the corner like that, but also the level of detail seems somewhat less there than the surrounding landscape - it makes for a jarring note in what is otherwise a stunning landscape. Possibly a smaller blackened area surrounded by trees would convey the same message (incompetent, possibly evil seer, etc) with a greater sense of overall harmony?
Anyway, hope you don't mind my minor quibbles - this is way better than i could hope to accomplish anyway! :) |

Incredible! The lush greenery really makes this MOC look well rounded, and it's a great base for everything else! The tower is amazing, the use of all those studs with a dark grey rim looks fantastic! Also, nice use of elves, because elves are always cool. The curved staircase is phenomenal, and really fits with the tower. I just noticed the tower is at an angle, that's a great touch that wasn't necessary, yet makes this so much more, few people would bother with those kinds of details in a MOC this big. The alien ship caught me completely off guard, but it is perfectly rendered. The wings on the sides and the engines are my favourite parts, great work! Also, amazing job with the skid marks and partially burying the ship, it's truly awe-inspiring. The water fall is just beautiful. The rock in the middle splitting it is a fantastic effect, and the trans studs are an excellent medium. Usually I don't like moulded rock pieces being used in MOCs, but they really work by the waterfall, as the current would have eroded away the rough angles. I think this could have been improved by spending an hour and making custom minifigs for the seer, alien, and maybe some peasants, but that's a minor detail. Ultimately this is an unbelievable MOC, and a mind-blowing piece of art. Keep up the good work, not that you ever haven't, mind you. |

the waterfall, the tower the curved staircase just fascinating - a testament to what can be done with these little ABS bricks of ours in the hands of someone oozing creativity! Outstanding build!
I'm just surprised a man of your skill hasn't delved too far into this sort of work yourself. As always, thanks mate! |

That's a pretty unique "castle" themed creation you have there... You could have taken a few more pictures of the whole diorama though.
Yeah a few more wouldn't have gone a miss, Cheers Deus. |

Thoy, this creation is fantastic, is very artistic, with many locations, one inside the other.
The spacecraft plunged, is my favorite part.
You have used many pieces and created a masterpiece of color, ideas, and techniques.
Congratulations, a job to master!
Thankyou good sir! Glad it was to your taste :) |

I love how we've both made models about UFOs crashing into historical places :) a superb model!
Thanks George, my initial thought was to make this build in the same category as MO. I decided not to so it didn't detract from the actual competition. |

This is another great build Thoy! I do love the winding staircase, and the tower is in the great style of Luke Hutchinson. I must say that between this and The Return of The Ancients, I am going to start looking for hidden aliens in all of your MOC's
Who is Luke Hutchinson? Hidden aliens hehe, although he's not that hidden in this Moc :) Could be the quirky Thoy thing I always include in my builds ;) |

Sweet jesus...this is amazing...my favorite parts would have to be the winding staircase (all of those studs...bricklink galore?) and the slightly submerged alien ship in the dirt: great landscaping there. Not sure about that black skeletal area though, it seems sorta out of place because it's just sitting in the corner without anything in it. But everything else is totally epic!
Read my comments below, its completely in place :) Thanks for the comment. |

Great twist! The stairs are amazing;the boney area around the seer is intriguing, what happened there???;the castle is great;the crashed ship is very nice, with the skid marks and the dirt on it,and the design itself is great;and that waterfall is mindblowing!
Seers get future readings and things from animal parts, this is the reason for that area being full of bones. Thanks :) |

This is an amazing diorama. Must I ask why an... alien... ship has crashed in a clearly midevial setting? And I don't understand the Seer thing... But anyways terrific landscape!
A Seer is like a soothsayer, they get readings from animal entrails and animal parts, this is the reason for the empty area full of bones. The UFO crashed is what the Seer didn't see coming in the future - as most of the people on MOCpages. |

Stunning Thoy, you really are the master of landscape and waterfall design. Wonderful scene, my favourite part has to be the crash site with the massive skid and dirt up over the front of the ship. Excellent attention to detail.
Thanks Leda, I tried to make the cobbled path move with the motion of the dirt mound, I think it worked a bit. |
