This is an entry for the Great Hobbit Contest. I chose to depict a scene from chapter four, “Over Hill and Under Hill.” The thirteen dwarves and Bilbo are captured by goblins. The Great Goblin is ready to kill them all when he sees the hated elven blade Orcrist in Thorin’s possession. Suddenly the torches poof out and Gandalf emerges from hiding and cleaves through the Great Goblin, but the company is not safe yet, they still have to fight their way through the goblin caverns deep underground.
Goblins fear the sword they call "Beater"
Glamdring has made quick work of the Great Goblin.
Gandalf made the fire explode, sending smoke and sparks everywhere.
The supplies that the dwarves brought with them are seized by goblins.
Some dwarves taking action against their gaurds.
When I started this entry I was pretty swamped with projects and I thought that I would just make a small vignette. I decided to show Gandalf killing the Great Goblin. Soon I was building much larger than an 8x8 and I decided to show the entire company. As I said earlier, this is an entry in the Great Hobbit Contest, organized by Ben King. If you want to check out the contest click here.
Now on to the extra pictures!

Accuracy to book 34/35. Originality 21/25. Creativity/technique 23/30, the blue smoke was an interesting idea but I think it looks a bit strange, maybe using a different color of blue would look better. Also the rocks could be more detailed. 5/10 minifigs, some dwarves don't really look dwarfish. Total 83/100, Thanks for participating!
