Hello all, I am not going to write too much here. I just spent the entire morning trying to patch up some pictures that I had accidentally deleted :/ Anyhow, lets see. Right, this is my 2nd (or 3rd for your flickr members) entry for CCC showing Bilbo's travels in the book the Hobbit by JRR Tolkien.
This is his stop at Beorn, the were-bear's house. Funfact: Beorn is my hero.
Anyhow, I think it is better, if I just shut up and let you guys look at the pics.
So yea, C&C welcome as always. Thanks boyos & girlies!
MOTD? I seem to have missed it.
The pure amount of detail put into this, is shocking. The tree to the right is very good, must've taken a while. I can't find a single thing wrong with this creation. You've outdone yourself... again.
Beautiful work here Blake! I'm once again blown away by your Lego building talents. If I started naming everything I liked about this, I'd be typing all day. So let me just sum it up by saying this: I love all the details of the building, the foliage is incredibly well done, the figs are superb, and the overall color scheme is absolutely splendid. This definitely deserves to be on the explore page and I hope it moves to Across MOCpages!
Thank you all for your comments! Sorry I haven't directly responded to anyone yet, I have been rather busy. Once things slow down, I'll be sure to answer all your questions and gracious comments. Thanks mates!
Your last Hobbit creation made me want to re-read the book, so I did, and I finished it this afternoon. This is a really spectacular creation, with Beorn quite close to how I imagine him. I love the roof of Beorn's hall, and as always with you, details abound in glorious profusion. Nice work!
Your creations never fail to impress me, Blake. The plant life in this looks wonderful and Beorn's house looks great too! Is there anything on the inside of his house? If so, could you post some pictures?
That is one of the best creations I have seen! Really nice with all the details. I was wondering though when you take a photo of it, to get the white background, how do you do? Is it edited after the photo is taken or have you just used a white background when you took the photo? (I would like to have like that for my own creations)
I love it! All your new HOBBIT MOCs are excellent. The best is that this includes everything from the book: The house, Beorn, the plants and fruits and his animals. The only thing I miss are the giant bees. BTW: I'm going to post the whole HOBBIT in about 20 episodes:
Wow! I was considering building this myself (great minds think alike)! But anyways this is exactly how I pictured it in my mind! The figs look fantastic! I had to look really closely to see some of the neat little details you put into this such as the hornets nest. Great job mate ;D
Impressive! The little details like the hornet's nest really make this stand out! The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the red bearded dwarf's hair. It's too thin for the beard and doesn't really fit, but I understand there are limited options. Everything else though, stellar! The capes for the were-bear's clothing really works, and the buildings are awesome! I also like all the foliage and landscaping. Great work!
This is an excellent composition of fine details and styles. It also has the right proportions. It's obvious that you're feeling comfortable about building Lord-of-the-Ring-MOCs. They're by far your best works.
The instant I saw the title I knew what this would be. You did this incredibly! I love that you added to the giant fig to distinguish it from the official fig. I especially love Beorn's house. Very viking-esque. Great work!
